2016 NCAA Tournament Discussion

That was super depressing. If North Carolina and Syracuse win, I won't be watching basketball on Sunday.

    I mean, he fouled too.

No he didn't. He stepped directly in front of him and took the ball away.

Well, aside from Kansas-Villanova, we are about to watch the last intriguing game of the weekend. Sundays games are already guaranteed to suck based on the teams already slated to play. I spoke far too early about this being the greatest tournament ever. It was the greatest opening weekend. Everything since has plain sucked.

That win feels great to me lol

I doubt it. If K has any say in it, and (unfortunately) I think he will have some, his wish will be to hand over his legacy to one of his former right hand men. Someone like Collins or Wojo or Capel, who, despite a tough end at Oklahoma, has emerged as one of the premier recruiters in all of the country during his tenure as Duke's associate head coach. Capel demonstrated flashes of that prowess in Norman, but just wasn't quite able to piece it all together. That was almost five years ago, though, and he's presumably learned from what went wrong. At a place like Duke, Capel would probably fare better.

But if Brey is K's replacement, I will feel for him like Kentucky fans felt for Tubby Smith. I will never like him.

My number one choice will always be Brad Stevens, no matter how well Collins or Wojo ultimately might do. But he's busy turning the Boston Celtics into a championship contender. He isn't leaving that for college basketball.

    I love this Zags team

I was just being an ass. I don't think K will let it get away from Capel, IMO. And let's be honest, it will be 100% K's decision. The university will have zero say, other than signing the contract.

Pretty clear reach in before the steal IMO. He raked him across the arm. "Freedom of movement" has been the emphasis all year.

2.7 seconds left...he couldn't even protect the ball let alone get off a 3 and make it

With Butler and Wisconsin out, I have redirected my rooting interests to Mark Few. Reaching the Final Four as an 11 seed in a tournament that nobody expected him to do anything would be unassumingly fitting for him. I've hated Gonzaga for being IMO overrated many years in the past, but it would be cool to see the original mid-major basketball power that paved the way for programs like Butler and Wichita State to finally reach the sport's biggest stage.

I could also live with Indiana or Villanova winning it all, as I always find it fun to watch former giants of their sport awake from their slumber.

I'm with you but really don't mind any team left outside of ND. I never got into the Gonzaga love fest and am just moot on Few. I haven't watched enough basketball this season at the NCAA level to speak intelligently...but what I've seen I am perplexed at them being an 11 seed and have really enjoyed the 3 games I have seen them.

Why wouldn't Marcus Paige go from 33% shooting against everyone else to looking like Glen Rice against Indiana.

    Well this is a disaster.

If Syracuse wins, this will be the worst Round of 16 I can ever remember in terms of sheer luster lacked.

Just saw that score. What the hell happened? When I saw it earlier they were down 8 or so. Now up 5?

There is no if really....before this day began I jinxed the fuck out of Wisky and Gonzaga

UNC is in trouble Sunday because I'll be rooting for the Irish to lose like a drunj Bengal fan cheering against the Steelers

I flipped over early in UNC game but Cuse was driving and getting some touch fouls and their zone was starting to swarm
  • wildcats20
Not good to only be up 11. Not the way to end the half with 4(3?) straight turnovers.
  • wildcats20
And instead of watching Cuse/Gonzaga, I'll watch the OSU women lol.
  • Ironman92
Gonzaga had the ball 3 different times momentarily on that Cuse possession but of course couldn't control and Cuse scores. Fack
