Updates for OSU Juniors

Anyone have any information on OSU juniors and whether or not they will be declaring for the draft. I believe the deadline is 1-15-10 to make their decisions.

No updates as of right now but just from the previous information it looks like only a total of 3 could go early without any surprises. Gibson, Heyward, and Chekwa are those three guys.

I expect Gibson to go and Heyward to stay. Who knows on Chekwa but another year at OSU will help a ton.

Chekwa has been alright but he won't be a significant loss if he goes. Torrence has proved he's pretty decent and we have some guys like Thomas Howard and CJ Barnett who are very close to being ready.

Heyward would be a huge loss for this team. It'd be nice if Gibson stayed another year because he's one guy I think who needs the work and could send his draft stock through the roof with a great senior year.

But if he leaves (Chekwa), I won't shed a tear.

I do want to say that Chekwa did do a nice job on Jeff Maehl from Oregon. There was one incidence where Chekwa did let Maehl catch a ball on the sidelines for a first down on a 3rd and long, but that was Maehl's only catch of the game.

I won't care if Chekwa leaves. people in the NFL will find out quickly what we've found out; he can't cover his way out of a paper bag

Yeah let's have Chekwa leave and let a young guy with no experience come in.

Whether he hasn't played well recently, Chekwa has had some good game and has the talent to play well. He is experienced and you never want to see anyone leave early especially when you are losing guys in the secondary already.

    I don't understand the dislike for Chekwa...I think he's a good corner.

Chekwa isn't awful, he just needs to learn to look back for the ball. He has the ability to stay with receivers.

I believe the tOSU coaching staff has enough expertise to know whether they have someone better, in which case that person would be playing instead.

It's the Ashton Youboty treatment. Like Youboty, Chekwa had an awesome first half of the season and then his play started to slip for whatever reason. The Purdue and Iowa games will be etched in the minds of fans when it comes to Chekwa.

Although I'm not a big fan of him, I agree, Chekwa is a good option to have at corner.

I think he's a good corner as well. I as well never understood the dislike for him. He's not Malcolm Jenkins, but he's a solid corner.

I thought that if OSU lost against Oregon, that there would be a surprise early entrant. However, with the big win and momentum heading into next season and good potential for OSU to run the table, they all return.

With recruiting that has been done the past couple yrs...we will be fine should a couple leave
