Mark May is GONE!

    Good. He never won anything.

Adnan is good but Galloway and Kanell are garbage. Rather have Holtz back.

How ironic is it that Mark May is replaced by a Buckeye!

Obviously I like having a Buckeye in there...but Galloway still needs some work. I do like Kannell though...he doesn't hold back on the SEC that's for sure.

The thing is Mark May just wasn't annoying about his Big 10 hate, the guy took many ridiculous stances

I like Kanell too, he always seemed pretty fair in his analysis, imo.

    He won 2 Super Bowls

Ya gotta admit it was fun hating the guy and he loved it...maybe a little too much and that's probably what got him canned. Next Up...Desmond Howard.

I'll never forget back in 2006, he bitched and yelled that you should have to win your Conference Championship to be in the BCS Title Game (His push for Florida over Michigan). Fastforward to the LSU/Oklahoma State debate, and he says, "The best two teams should play. Winning a Conference Championship should not matter."

    That always pissed me off.

Honest question, what's wrong with Desmond Howard?

No love lost on Mark May... blatantly anti- B1G. Between him and reverse homer Herbstreit, I didn't care to even watch ESPN commentary.

Ya mean other than being an always ill prepared unabashed homer for ScUM? Nothing I guess.

I have no problem with Howard being a Michigan homer. The guy won a Heisman playing for them, so I think people expect and understand that he'd be that way. The guy I don't get is Herbsteit. It's like he thinks his journalistic integrity will be compromised if he shows the least bit of love for the Buckeyes. Last year, it was Michigan game day, and the guy was wearing a purple tie. WTF. That irritated the shit out of me.

The thing I always wondered about these type of guys is if Mark May really is that big of an asshat in real life, or does ESPN completely require it of him? I suspect it's a middle ground where they want him to antagonize viewers. In this instance, it went too far and they felt they needed a fresh start. Awful Announcing has done a few articles on his departure already, and I think they sum it up nicely when they say shame on ESPN for wanting to annoy viewers into watching rather than enlighten and inform them.

I kind of think this as well. Having someone for shock value or different ideas is one thing but damn. I'm sure he'd be professional about it, but I'd like to hear his honest take about the whole thing.

I think May hates OSU personally but ESPN encourages it so its a combination of both.

Herbstreit's career has blown his head up. His "journalistic integrity" as you say is so funny. I think you're exactly right. But I want to say to the guy, "Dud you are a COLLEGE FOOTBALL commentator. You're not reporting on ISIS or Soviet Russia's advancement on Ukraine. You're not sitting in the White House press room asking the President about foreign affairs issues. You're giving opinions about 19 year old FOOTBALL players. No one takes you or what you do that seriously, so you shouldn't either. "
