NBC doesn't show TBDBITL Performance in the Rose Parade
-
ou1980Get on NBC 4 website....Buckeye fans afre livid!!!!
-
september63Get over it!!
-
RotinajLol who cares.
-
karen lotz
-
WaltPickerington Central's band was shown!
-
karen lotzLet's hope those disgruntled band fans chose to watch the game and didn't change the channel during halftime
-
ts1227The Ohio University Marching 110 got the shaft too, you could hear Stand Up and Cheer in the background and see them coming around the bend, then they cut to commercial.
-
karen lotzdid you read some of the comments on NBC's website?
-
september63Why would I? I could care less if the parade didnt show the band. IT was a damn parade, not halftime of the game or anything.
-
ts1227And this is just a damn game, I suppose they should chop out the 4th quarter for a Ronco Showtime Rotisserie infomercial. You'll get over it, right?
Just because it isn't football doesn't means we automatically render it irrelevant. Don't be so closed minded. -
september63So Sorry, I didnt realize OU even had a band!!
-
fortfanI watched ABC-they were shown on there.
-
queencitybuckeyeWhen NBC went to a commercial, I switched to one of the tens of cable stations covering the parade and missed nothing.
-
thedynasty1998Yea, who cares? People didn't tune in to watch the band. They tuned in to watch the game, so that's why they didn't cut away from it.
Sorry your son didn't get his 7 seconds of game. -
darbypitcher22NBC is retarded anyways.
We won the game that's all that matters -

if people tuned in to NBC during the parade to watch the game they were on the wrong channel and nearly 5 hours earlythedynasty1998 wrote: Yea, who cares? People didn't tune in to watch the band. They tuned in to watch the game, so that's why they didn't cut away from it. -
osudarby08Wow some people need to go back to band camp or learn how to look at this on the internet. Holy shit I cant believe people are this pissed.
-
ts1227I could not care less about band stuff, but I'm also not pigheaded enough to come on here and spout off that since it's not OSU football it's not worth having a discussion over.
I was pissed that they cut the OU band off because that's my alma mater. I don't even like OSU but it's still shitty that they cut out the performance of the participating team's band from the network TV broadcast (I know it was on some arbitrary cable stations commercial free).
Yeah, it isn't football. But it can still get people upset. Some people don't operate in OSU football tunnel vision. -
ROYAL.BI did so tune into the rose bowl parade to see the Ohio State Marching Band. Instead I had to listen to an almost certainly drunk Al Roker ramble on about his trip to trader Joes. The fact is the best damn band in the land represented the big ten's representative in the Rose Bowl and was snubbed by the major network covering the parade. Oregon was shown. The Rose Bowl parade is a prelim for the game since the game has existed. This should not have happened and NBC needs to know that Buckeye Nation is pissed. I also feel that they were wrong for snubbing the OU band however that band did not represent one of the two conferences affiliated with the Rose Bowl for the last at least 40 years of its existence minus a few national championship years. I am no prude and I am not an OSU tunnel vision fan, although I am a Buckeye. But this from a stand point of being a midwesterner and a Big Ten fan and a fan of football and its pagentry in my opinion is unforgivable. The Rose bowl is about pagentry and there is far more to the pagentry of OSU football then just the football team. Ask Tressle I am sure he would say the same. He recognized the best damn band land after a national championship and again after today. He gets it.

That's where I think they made the mistake.ts1227 wrote:I don't even like OSU but it's still shitty that they cut out the performance of the participating team's band from the network TV broadcast.
1. They are the band of a team playing in the Rose Bowl.
2. OSU is known for their fan base and therefore probably be watching for the band as well.
We were fortunate to be watching on cable and didn't miss it. Cranked up the volume and sang alone. IMO, NBC made a mistake. -
darbypitcher22I missed them on the pregame show for the actual game, if they were even shown. by the time we turned the channel Oregon and their awful looking track suits and ball caps were stinking up the joint
