Man, I'm so happy Rutgers is going to be part of the B1G...

Just another incident (following things like coaches being deemed overly abusive and class act LeGrand having to be part of a commencement ceremony circus) showing that while the school sucks at sports, they're SEC-level champs at off-the-field debacles. -
SportsAndLadyRutgers is the worst school in the country. No doubt about it.

believerThe school is in New Jersey. That's all you need to know.

Manhattan BuckeyeBoth Rutgers and Maryland were huge mistakes. Not sure how the conference is helped by gaining bottom feeders in most sports. If they had to expand they should have pushed for Notre Dame and Mizzou.

They get a ton more per subscriber to the BTN in the states that a team resides in or something to the likes. Rutgers and Md were untapped areas for them and will bring in huge $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for TV. -

I can think of 13 worse schools and they all come from the SEC.SportsAndLady;1615508 wrote:Rutgers is the worst school in the country. No doubt about it. -

Idiot. Glad the Gophers don't have to deal with this mess. -

Don't know that I'd go that far; they're just not what I'd consider to be the material that I'd want a college to be when considering them for a major conference.SportsAndLady;1615508 wrote:Rutgers is the worst school in the country. No doubt about it.
They're in a large TV market, but they don't bring anything else to the table. I read that they didn't win any titles this year in the American Athletic Conference (revenue sports or otherwise) and they just seem to have this cloud of dysfunction over them that makes me think they'll be combining poor athletic results with negative headlines.
It's the sort of thing that annoys me, especially when other expanding conferences are grabbing schools that might not be in big expansion markets, but are at least above average to very good in athletics. -

Right, the B1G just didn't push hard enough for Notre DameManhattan Buckeye;1615626 wrote:If they had to expand they should have pushed for Notre Dame -
thavoiceI think for the product on the field ND would have been best served to join the big ten. They could set up their schedule much better like the other big time colleges, more regional teams and a conference to contend for each season. I think they kinda get lost in the shuffle most seasons when they lose a game or two. They really dont have anything to play for per say. Enter a conference and you have a conference title to play for every season.
Set up your schedle like the big boys...3-4 creampuffs to start the season, mostly at home with no return trip the next year. The built in big conference games and also the built in easy conference wins and next thing you know you play 7-8 home games a season. -

Alright, major reps for this! The morons in charge actually thought bringing in Maryland would bring in the DC market, and that Rutgers would bring in the New York market? How dumb are they? The market is already there. Perhaps the next extension will be Columbia and Princeton. -

Reading some articles on it and there is speculation that many carriers may not even have the BTN because Rutgers isnt that big of a draw. B10 is counting on those cable/sat guys to carry it and charge them for it.....dont think they wil get what they think they willManhattan Buckeye;1615847 wrote:Alright, major reps for this!
