Have you seen his lineup!?Classyposter58;1596183 wrote:17 Sweet 16s and Cuse is always tough. Let's not forget they were 25-0 to start this season and not particularly a good scoring team either -

Pitino yes, Cal, I have my doubts about his actual coaching ability.Tiernan;1596403 wrote:Pretty hard to leave out the greasy wops Calipari & Pitino...I hate them but those damn dagos can flat out coach basketball. -

Pitino doesn't get mentioned sometimes because of the style his teams play nowadays. It's not good basketball. -

It's annoying to play against too. Just not fun to basically get mugged while playingwildcats20;1596424 wrote:This is my feeling as well.

Laley23Good look at in-game/end of game numbers breakdown of teams (coaches) by KenPom.
I never know what to TRULY make of these types of things, but I do know I trust the formulas KenPom uses more than anyone. This article is pretty good and breaks down the numbers of wins when winning at _____. Including halftime (adjustments), etc.
I noticed, and why I am posting here, that New Mexico is on there near the top on almost all of the graphs. Since we were just talking about Alford...maybe he is better than we give him credit for. He did do a remarkable job at UNM, all things considered, and has had a quick turnaround at UCLA. Maybe we expected to much at Iowa, no one can win there it seems like, and he had them as a top 3 seed in the NCAAs at one point...

MulvaThis season was Alford's first sweet 16 appearance in 15 years, I believe. He did it a combined 0 times at Iowa and New Mexico.
