There is no way that's him.

It IS him, but when he played for Western Michigan.

Victories or losses in the tournament are irrelevant. If that were true then one could argue that highly seeded teams that lose to a lower seeded team didn't belong in the tournament.
I'm not denying that State struggled mightily in the non-conference. On top of that, the ACC was really good this year, so the road didn't get any easier for the Pack once it started conference play. But N.C. State did slowly get better and better as the year moved along. I think it's fair to wonder how well N.C. State and, say, Dayton would have fared if they had switched conferences this season.

You can make an argument like that almost every year. I say any mid major team has AT least 5 loses in one of the top 4 (BT, ACC, B12 and PAC) in any given year. Even the mid majors who get 1 seeds.

On the flip side, a team like NW who was last in the B10 probably finishes top half of any kid major, or better..

But that's a slippery slope to go down, and frankly, I'm glad they don't. Just stick to the computer numbers.

Poly - Texas So. isn't much of a game.....

    Hopefully Iowa/Tenn is better

Rule number one of the play-in games, always bet against the SWAC.

I have this feeling that Cal Poly is going to give Wichita St. a run.

    This is terrible basketball.
  • Mulva
When did Iowa learn how to play defense?
  • reclegend22
This looks like a classic "win one for the coach" performance. The terrible turn of events for Fran McCaffery's son might turn into a motivational run for the Hawkeyes. There is definitely a sense of spirit there that we haven't seen from Iowa for weeks.

While they've cooled a bit in the second half, Iowa looks like a brand-new team tonight compared to the one that lost six of seven.

    Come on Iowa
  • Azubuike24
Actually, the execution by both teams has been solid this half. Also, both teams hitting FT's.
  • Azubuike24
That was the epitome of a 50/50 call...literally hit off both hands at the same time.

    Overtime

    Free basketball!!!
  • Mulva
Why doesn't Iowa throw it into Woodbury on every possession.
  • Azubuike24
If Tennessee had a decent PG they would be much better.

Stokes, McRae and Richardson are all legit. Maymon is a guy you want on every team.

    Slipping away from Iowa
  • Azubuike24
Flagrant 1 on Iowa. This one is over. Clearly a grab, no intent to play the ball there.

    Ok....now the field is set
  • The Answer
Iowa just completely fell apart this year and this game is a perfect example of their season. Could never finish games all year.
