OC Fantasy Basketball Week 9 Standings/Week 10 Thread

• reclegend22
At 317.5 through 14 games. I have 12 left but if I continue to average about 26 points a game I will be prevented from finishing near the top.

Chris Wood playing just 3 minutes against New Mexico has killed me and Drew Crawford/Johhny Dee are putting up about 10 to 15 points a game tops now. Crawford should just cite his bad back and retire. He's a relic of his former self at this point and is embarrassing the city of Evanston.

It's better than mine haha...

Had 3 games yesterday and all of them were good. Still will probably end up towards the bottom. 12 out of 24 games I'm at 303.25
• Laley23
Through 11/23 I have 385.50

I think Corey Hawkins will miss Saturday, since he didnt play the last 15 minutes yesterday, I think cause of injury.
• birddog23
328.75 with 10 games left. Shooting for top 4 this week.
• Laley23
704.75 with Joseph Young still to go tomorrow. Of I don't win this week, I'll never win.

Not a single bad game, outside of Wright today (12 FP). Other than that, two 19 FPGs and everything else was 26 FPGs or above.
• sportswizuhrd
753 with 3 guys to go.
• birddog23
What a shitty Saturday. I'm at 476 with 2 left today. Wiggins, first pick overall, may be the worst fantasy guy on my team. What a worthless POS, sorry S&L.
• Azubuike24
Also a very shitty Saturday here. Games of 13, 13.50, 8, 17.75. Not going to cut it. Through 20, at 527. One game left. Thank goodness, it's TaShawn Thomas, probably my best player.
• Iliketurtles
Well my guys are done had a lot of terrible games yesterday but some good ones as well. Finished with 576.75 points. Hopefully T Thomas doesn't get 50 for Azu so I at least know I've beaten someone lol.
• Azubuike24
He's hoping he goes for 50.25.

Of course, then we'll find a stat mistake and I'll be -1 somewhere and still lose!
• SportsAndLady
508.25, with 2 left today

Need a big game out of Alec Brown today. Because we all know Keith Frzier won't do shit

I would love 5 points from him lol
• Terry_Tate
No idea where I stand but I'm guessing I'll average 27-28 a game so hopefully I at least beat Mulva.

566 through a total of 26 games.

It's tough to compete week to week when you're handicapped by one or two guys who are utterly worthless, but I think many of us have that problem. If we do this again, I will not make the mistake of trying to be some kind of wunderkind talent scout who finds diamonds in the rough again. That was really stupid. Had I taken the proven guys I had on my list near the end of the draft, rather than freshman or projects, I'd be sitting in much better position.
• Laley23
715.00 total for the week.
• Azubuike24
Rec, you make an interesting point. There has to be a balance. For instance, I took the opposite approach. Outside of James Young, who I felt it was safe to think he would be a high-level player right away, I took all veterans.

Joe Jackson, Fuquan Edwin, D.J. Covington and Ryan Boatwright all Seniors.
Laquinton Ross, Bryce DeJean-Jones, Juvonte Reddic, TaShawn Thomas all Juniors.
Isaiah Austin, Jordan Adams and Mitch McGary all high-level producers as Freshman.

My team is lucky to be top half of the standings. So, either all experienced players isn't a great option, or I'm simply bad at picking the experienced ones!
• Laley23
I went for balance as well, but only took 2 freshman, Noah Vonleh and Joel Embiid.

I banked on the improvement of Gary Harris and Markel Brown to round out my 4 "unproved".

All my others were teams best player and returning FPPG man. Sherrod Wright is the only one who has taken a step back of those other 8 (Joseph Young as well, but he's a transfer...).

I'm honestly where I am BECAUSE I drafted Vonleh and Embiid though. If those picks backfired, I'd be terrible.
• reclegend22
Yeah, as you point out, Az, sometimes players who were previously high-level performers simply regress, due to any number of reasons. So a draft like this is not an exact science.

I just look at a couple of my drafting decisions, however -- most notably deciding to take Chris Obekpa over Cady Lalanne and Christian Wood over Jordan Loveridge -- and it makes me pretty sick. Those were guys that I had on my draft list, and instead I made the decision to go with a project who does nothing but block shots and a freshman with almost no pub whom I pick based on future NBA potential as a long, 6-11 swingman. I mean, I fucked up.
