Citrus Bowl Turf?

  That field was pathetic. Other than a bowl game being played in a downpour, does anyone remember a bowl game played on such a shitty turf? Remember, they have another game there Fri with PSU-LSU.

  They said they had 4 state championship games played in that stadium, but I can't see that being a problem unless it was played in incliment weather.
  
  The sand base doesn't do anything to help it, and neither will all the people all over it here in the next could of days with Capital One Bowl Media Day, the conversion crew(logos, end zones, etc), and team walkthroughs on Thursday

  Field conditions as they are gonna be. Dont you think this might slow down LSU's speed and help Penn State more than LSU? It did slow Miami down some.

  I don't know if it'll favor one team or another; if you're fast on one surface you're usually fast on another....

  How the hell can you tell if it slowed down Miami? They didn't even get out of the box. They got dominated at the LOS so badly it's impossible to even judge.

  I just saw highlites and they had several plays where Miami guys running routes or running in open field fell as they dug up turf. Not once did they show a Wisc player going down as he dug up turf.

  Wisconsin played in gravity-defying shoes that allowed to run just above the turf throughout game, therefore avoiding slipping on it. Unfair advantage. The Canes got screwed.

  that being said, if i was walking around during the walk through tomorrow for either of those two teams and saw chunks of turf missing all over the place and felt myself slipping and squishing around, I'd be expressing some concern

  Both teams played on the same field. I wish people at ESPN would stop making excuses for Miami.

  Wisconsin worried me because I knew they'd just pound Clay at us and we wouldn't slow him enough to actually get the ball enough to score. I never counted on the quicker, more athletic defense getting carved up by Scott Tolzein.
  
  That field, however, probably cost Graig Cooper considerable cash and an entire season.

  A bad field means that the average SEC player that typically runs a sub 4.0 forty will run a 4.5 out there. The average Big Ten player that typically runs a 6 second forty will run it in 6.5 out there. Doesn't give anyone an advantage. Unless Penn State gets some of those hover-shoes from Wisconsin.

  Didn't look like it. He seemed to get good footing on making the cut.
  
  For this game, the field hardly mattered when Miami was getting dominated on the LOS.
