You know, I was thinking the same thing. Hell, he's an Ohio kid, so why not!!!LJ;1560427 wrote:So maybe Cook didn't look so good just because OSU's secondary sucks -
Azubuike24If OSU wins, the B1G actually did better than I expected. Minnesota and Michigan still greatly underachieved given their opponents. Iowa and Wisconsin really did not.

meh, I thought the michigan game was a tossup but expected wisky to winAzubuike24;1560483 wrote:If OSU wins, the B1G actually did better than I expected. Minnesota and Michigan still greatly underachieved given their opponents. Iowa and Wisconsin really did not. -
gerb131Thought Iowa played well and Wisconsin have it a game effort. Losses yes but game efforts.

It was pretty even, but UM got smacked by 4 TD's...they needed a garbage TD at the end to even make it look decent.Mohican00;1560504 wrote:meh, I thought the michigan game was a tossup but expected wisky to win -
SonofanumpStave going out hurt the chances.

Pick6I thought UM was going to get smacked, especially without their QB. Cant believe how much they underachieved this year, honestly.
-
dwccrewI originally picked Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State to win.
I picked Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan to lose. Hopefully Ohio State wins and gives me the winning prediction record. -
Pick6If OSU wins, the B1G will be 3-4, not 4-3.

No shit? Re-read my post. Gives ME a winning bowl PREDICTION record.Pick6;1560617 wrote:If OSU wins, the B1G will be 3-4, not 4-3. -
TiernanAnd if they don't the B1G goes 2-5 like I predicted. I'd rather be wrong...but as we all know that is seldom the case.
-
dwccrew
I think most of us would rather you be wrong. Sadly, I don't think you will be, but I can't pick against the Buckeyes so it was my least confident prediction. My head says Clemson, heart says Ohio State.Tiernan;1560909 wrote:And if they don't the B1G goes 2-5 like I predicted. I'd rather be wrong...but as we all know that is seldom the case. -

Lovejoy1984God, now we will never hear the end of Tiernan.

TiernanNope...wide awake and semi - sober and while I do hate to point out how I'm seldom wrong about anything football related...well it's pretty obvious ain't it?

centralbucksfanObviously from a won/loss perspective, things didn't go well for the Big10. That being said, every game was very competitive and could have easily gone the other way. This is much different then a few years ago. The gap has closed significantly. Much more parity across the board with all major conferences closing the gap with the SEC.

Agreed. Wisky and Iowa also lost their starting QB's during their bowl games.centralbucksfan;1562208 wrote:Obviously from a won/loss perspective, things didn't go well for the Big10. LSU was also starting a true freshman QB in his first game. I do agree though that the gap isn't much anymore. I never thought it was very big to begin with.LJ;1562211 wrote:Agreed. Wisky and Iowa also lost their starting QB's during their bowl games. -
Tiernan^^^
The French were always big on "moral victories" too. For gods sake just admit it...the B1G shit down its leg. -
LJ
Yeah but they were prepared to go with him. Not quite the same.Rotinaj;1562227 wrote:LSU was also starting a true freshman QB in his first game. I do agree though that the gap isn't much anymore. I never thought it was very big to begin with. -

Nevertheless, smaller gap and "competitiveness" aside, it's clear the B1G is still lagging.centralbucksfan;1562208 wrote:Obviously from a won/loss perspective, things didn't go well for the Big10. IMHO the B1G lags significantly behind the SEC and PAC 12. One could also argue that the conference might even lag slightly behind the ACC and Big 12.
I'd agree that this year's B1G bowl games were more competitive, but the conference still went 2-5. This is the 11th consecutive season where the conference finished with a losing record in bowl games. No matter how the most loyal B1G fan might spin it, that's simply an unacceptable performance for a conference that used to lead the pack. -

You agree the games were more competitive? LOL I would hope so! Nobody is spinning anything. Anyone who WATCHED the games, could certainly see, the Big10 was right there in terms of competing with a chance to win the game. A play here or there making the difference. This wasn't going to happen overnite. But as I mentioned, all conferences are closing the gap that the SEC established. That is evident either by the wins and/or how competitive the games were.believer;1562260 wrote:Nevertheless, smaller gap and "competitiveness" aside, it's clear the B1G is still lagging.

And, there is also the how teams actually matchup as well. That could make a huge difference in results.
