OC Fantasy Basketball Week 1 Scoring/Chatter Thread

    In 34 games I had 953

Had 4 guys going yesterday and all were pretty disappointing. Thought for sure I'd crack 1000.
  • Iliketurtles
I finished with 1078.75. My guys did pretty much nothing this weekend and it killed me. Even if they stepped it up still don't think it would have been enough to beat Mulva he just had a great week.

    In 31 total games...

Not good. But not bad, either, I guess, when factoring in that due to extenuating circumstances I basically lost out on 5 games this week without any points. But I'm going to be handicapped all year most likely, so I just have to hope my other 11 guys really produce. Hopefully the circumstances change at some point.

    I think this is correct:

Anyone else have worse than 2.5 total points for a player who has played in at least a full game so far? When it's all said and done, I might end up having the best (Javon McCrea) and worst (Chris Wood) picks of the draft. Kind of bittersweet, haha.
  • Laley23
Storms yesterday left me without power, and I'm not going to double check my info on my phone. So if turtles or AZ want to do it and compare that would be lovely. As it stands, by my calculations, I am behind terry by 1 pt., which is bullshit, so I hope I have a mistake in my favor lol.

Just double checked. Joel Embiids stats all got changed the day after the Duke game.

    Updated total is 1,087.25

Might push me ahead of Terry, not sure.
  • Azubuike24
It would. I'll let you guys go back and check to make sure. I'm basically taking people's word for their scores on week 1, except for the 3 or 4 I did myself.
  • Laley23
I just went through everyones stats, game by game. Embiid was the only one I had wrong and he had like 7 of the 10 possible stats different. Had to add 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 TO and take away 2 blocks or something lol.
  • Pick6
yea if I recall, Chaz Williams' stats changed a little for his first game when I was checking his 2nd. I fixed it already, and it obviously didnt make a difference lol.
  • Laley23
Dont know if this will post from FaceBook

    Next year, we're using Fantrax!

It's worth 80 bucks to have an entire site run your league, add/subtract players, etc...

Can we still do it for this year? I mean if we all chip it it would only be 6.67 a person.

Also I'm just now getting around to doing everyone's totals was sick yesterday.
  • Azubuike24
    I'm sure we could, yeah.

We'd need a pretty quick vote. It may actually be cheaper though, the guy who runs my CBB league also runs 2 college football leagues and a college baseball league on there.

It's an impressive setup, from what I've seen going in and editing my lineup and what not.

I kind of enjoy finding and inputting stats for my players

I actually was going to say this. Also, I might as well just give the $7 to the Children's Emergency Fund because I have absolutely no chance of getting any of my investment back here.

I'd be for it next year -- the extra money is fine with me for a system that makes things easier -- but like S&L, I really did enjoy doing the Draft on my own (i.e. seeking out players by research on my own, rather than have a list of players with their stats already in front of me on Fantrax) and looking up my player stats is something I find enjoyable.
  • reclegend22
With that said, in order to make things easier for Az, we all need to be actively checking out team stats and posting them here. It doesn't take that long. Maybe an hour a week. If we all do this, it will be a much smoother process.

I like it to. Keeps me even more interested in teams and players I normally would not follow.
  • reclegend22
In order to make things easier for Az and Turtles who seem to be doing the majority of the overall work so far, is instituting a rule where, if you don't post your own team stats by a certain time at the end of the week (unless you inform somebody that you will be working/busy/out of town/whatever ahead of time) you don't get any points for that week, too stern?

I mean, I think if you agree to play you should post your stats. Then again, without Fantrax, somebody always has to double check the scores anyway. So I see where Az is coming from. I just really enjoy doing everything on my own.
