Champions Classic - Chicago

I can see the Cavs getting a top 10 pick. The East is really competitive it seems.

They could really use another big. I think someone like Embiid would be a great fit for them.

Coach K got out coached significantly tonight in my opinion. You have to steal more minutes with Hariston Murphy and Plumlee in the closure of the first and beginning of the second half. Bench minutes and production will have to improve if Duke wants to win a national title. The great thing about it is this is November and there is still 5 more months of basketball to play.

Kansas reminded me of the 2004 UConn huskies with the way they kept bringing huge players off the bench. May as well have been Okafor, Boone, Armstrong, and Villanueva out there.

Both Kansas and Duke are really good top to bottom. Better than either of the teams in the first game IMO--though judging a team in mid-November doesn't mean much in March. Especially someone like Kentucky--they'll either be what they were last year, or they'll come together by March and be a much better basketball team. All 4 teams looked good. I thought Kansas looked the best. They're deep. Talented offensively. And what impressed me the most was their defensive rotation. They've been watching some Heat tape, I guarantee you that.

Wiggins and Parker are legit. Both are going to be studs. All of the "this one is better than that one" garbage needs to just stop now. We have a whole season to see it play out. I read some really ridiculous things about Wiggins last night--like he's lazy and doesn't play defense. If you watched the game and don't think Wiggins plays D, don't ever give me your opinion on basketball again. The kid is nasty. It's going to be a treat to watch them both this year, and I hope we get a rematch in the tournament.

That said, the new foul rules are horrible and honestly could ruin the game at this level IMO. They need to go, like yesterday. The game was hard to watch because of it. Honestly, if all games are called that way (and I suppose under the new rules they should be) it's going to be hard for me to watch much CBB this year. I can still hear whistles...

I agree with what someone said earlier. They'll call it tight to start the season, to teach players how they should be playing. It'll get more lax as the season progresses.

It better or it's going to make it has the potential to ruin a great season IMO.

No, it doesn't and it won't.

Haha...alright. To each his own. For me, it definitely does. But if you want to give me a lesson on my what perspective is, go right ahead...since you apparently know.

Quit worrying about the freaking officials. That's my perspective. They are doing what they have been instructed to do. The players will still decide the outcome of each game.

Last night, there were about 14 or 15 straight possessions with a whistle. It's hard not to worry about them. It made it hard to watch. It also went on until 12:30 in the fucking morning. If every game is that whistle happy, it will ruin the season for me. I will not continue to watch college basketball. Quit worrying about what I'm going to do with my own time. If it doesn't bother you then it doesn't, I don't give a shit.
  • Me?
And MOST of those whistles, while legitimate within the new rules, were fucking TERRIBLE IMO. If they won't let them play, then I don't care to watch. Don't get your panties all in a bunch over what I'm putting on my TV.

Oh, so I'm sorry for my opinion then, correct?
  • Me?
It has nothing to do with your opinion, you attacked mine. Go eat dirt.

The game tipped at 10:28 and ended right around 12:30. Two hours, that's the norm. There was a lot of fouls called, yes, but that is just what the officials were told to enforce this year. Players actually have to play defense this year HOLY SHIT. You can't use your hands or forearm to impeded a dribbler. Move your feet and have some help side defense.

I tend to agree with you, and I sure hope we're right.

Holy fucking shit. First of all, the game went on late because the first game was the same way and it took forever. I never once said the 2nd game was too extended, I said it ended too late. I'm not complaining about the officials and you can't show me one time where I did--I don't like the new rule. I understand the officials are calling it the way they're supposed to. Jesus fucking Christ...really??!?! I think the rule is horrible. If you watched the game last night and some of those calls, and by some I mean at least half, didn't have your head spinning as a basketball fan then I don't respect your opinion as a basketball fan. There ya go. But from the very beginning of this discussion, I talked about all of this and how it relates to ME and what I want to watch. I don't give a flying fuck what any of you think about it. I don't. Good for you, watch. There is a reason I said IN MY OPINION. And don't act like I'm the only one--a lot of talking heads and even some athletes (like LeBron for instance) agreed with me. When you have a dude who drives into the lane, does a half assed euro step and goes up, gets brushed by the finger tips of his off balance defender and makes an uncontested layup and there is a foul called....that's a game I don't care to watch. Excuse me for having that perspective.

Are you going to explain to me what this actually means this time? Or are you and a few others just going to continually say it and never explain it?

No, no, no, no, no... excuse US for debating.

No one "attacked" your opinion. You said it would ruin the game and then ETB said it wouldnt.

You are the one blowing this WAY out of proportion. You then backtracked and said it would ruin it FOR YOU...and started to say you cant have a differing opinion because it was your personal preference. But thats not what you said initially.

SportsAndLady;1534783 wrote:Wiggins is just unreal. Parker, too. But damn that step back J to go up 4 was smooth, and in an incredibly needy time.

And as Laley said a couple times..his defense is phenomenal.

He's the #1 pick, hands down. I don't care about anything else. He's #1, lock.

Hell of a win. Hope KU moves to 2, even though they'll probably be 3.
Wiggins is a lock for #1 and Parker is a lock for #2.

Ok, and in ETBs OPINION it wont ruin the game.

Your post, while your opinion, is stating something that applies to everyone (it is going to ruin the game). A statement like that is free for anyone to disagree with lol.

Now, you later stated it would ruin it for you, which is undebatable since no one can say that wont happen. But you didnt say that until you claimed ETB "attacked" your opinion...even though he simply gave his own that was differing from yours.
