Ohio State vs Florida A&M - 9/21, 12pm EST

    Opening line is OSU giving....57!!

This should be a thorough beating and I expect a lot of the younger guys to get time.

I'm curious to see how the QB situation plays out. Meyer said in the last post game presser that he would consider both getting time moving forward. I don't like that, but what do you do? Kenny G has the hot hand and can chuck it. Miller is made of glass and I'm not sure he can throw it as good as or better than Guiton. Thoughts?

There's no way Miller should take a snap in this one. And I can't wait to see how far they fall in the polls once again.
  • Automatik
I don't really concern myself with the polls. Just win and hope everything works out. OSU isn't a top team in the country anyway.

They are better than Clemson, Miami, and Oregon
  • Automatik
    Miami? I agree with that.

Oregon, I doubt it. Clemson, I'm on the fence.

They weren't supposed to be in the 2010 Rose Bowl either...just sayin'
  • Automatik
Irrelevant. I thought we would beat Oregon the second that matchup was announced.

It's still very early, but what I've seen from both teams so far. Oregon>OSU
  • ptown_trojans_1
57 is ridiculous considering OSU has scored 52 max.
And, I doubt the defense gets a shutout.
I kind of want to see Miller out there for 1 series, just to get the rust off. Scramble, throw some short passes, maybe one deep one, then sit him.
The thought of him cold going into the Wisconsin game doesn't sit well.

I do hope to see a lot of the younger guys.

I can't believe so many people think Guiton should get time over Braxton. Braxton could end up being the GREATEST OSU QB Ever. He already has a 12-0 season, he could also end up with a national championship.

Braxton has already proven his worth against real teams with real defenses. He does things almost no one else can do. Guition is just another pretty good qb that is like a lot of other pretty good quarterbacks in college.

Braxton is special and you shouldn't make him think twice about being the starter.
  • Automatik
He's not durable. I've accepted it.

Real teams? Real defenses? Please elaborate...

Well, as far as "total defense" in Division 1 Braxton played and beat the following (2012 stats):

    #4 - Michigan St
    #13 - Michigan
    #15 - Wisconsin
    #29 - Penn St
    #35 - Nebraska
    #42 - UCF

Kenny Guiton has played well against San Diego St & California

San Diego St is 0-2 and has given up 40 points to Eastern Illinois & 42 points against us.

Eastern Illinois' QB threw for 361 yards and 3 tds - Maybe he should start over Braxton? Guiton only threw for 152 against the Aztecs

California lost by 14 against Northwestern & Squeaked by Portland St winning by 7. So far they have given up an average of 42 pts/game

Just to give you an example of QB performances against CAL BEARS

    1) QB #1 - 276 passing yards
    2) QB #2 - 308 passing yards 60 yards rushing
    3) QB #3 - 276 passing yards 4 tds - 92 yards rushing.

Now obviously 1 person did better than the other 2, but team #3 is an elite team and team #2 is not a DIV 1 team.

Cal & San Diego St are not real teams with real defenses.

Guiton is pretty fucking good. Way better passer than Miller. Miller is a better running threat, but Guiton plays smart and is a pretty good running threat as well. Torn as to what to do with the QB situation.

Only reason we were undefeated last year is because Guiton led us to a miracle comeback against purdue after Miller was playing like dog shit the whole game.

I mean he was just named Walter Camp player of the week......

I will agree that good throwing Qbs like Guiton look awesome against teams who can apply ZERO pressure in reality.

Braxton can carry you to an undefeated season, no matter what type of defense.

Braxton can leave OSU as the greatest OSU QB of all time.

Correct. Had one of those feelings, ya know?

This year, I'd view us as the underdog. Like I said though, long way to go.

He could also make one bad cut on that mcl and be done for the year.

And imagine the uproar if it happened in a game vs an fcs team where he wasn't needed
  • se-alum
Miller will most likely start this week, barring a setback. To me, as much as I like Braxton's ability, Kenny looks much more comfortable in the offense, and he seems much more decisive than Miller in the passing game. We have only seen 1 game out of Braxton this year though, so maybe that's not a big enough sample to judge him on.
  • vball10set
Braxton is QB1, Kenny is QB2. Period. (but damn, it sure is tempting)
  • Tiernan
I'd like to see a little trickery with both of them occasionally in the backfield. They would drive Def Coors nuts preparing for that.

    Freudian slip?

Most BCS teams would love to have Guiton as their starting QB. Well OK, at least most teams in the B1G would love to start Guiton.

That being said there's no question that Miller is a better running threat than Guiton...but Guiton can also run. Guiton is clearly the better passer and seems far more at ease in the pocket than Miller.

Like someone above said Miller is made of glass. He goes down easily at the slightest hit. Sometimes I wonder if his injuries are legit??

Miller is obviously good but Guiton would be my starting QB.

This is closer to the truth, and I totally agree with your last sentence.
