ESPiN will fix this. Remember the pics of T Rich signing jerseys in a dealership that he got his car from?

Wasn't there also some other Alabama players who were connected with signed memorabilia from some sports memorabilia store?

Fluker posted on Twitter that he took money while at Alabama, the NCAA did nothing.

everyone remember this tweet that was quickly deleted?

But I thought he was just like anyone else that ever tweeted something incredibly stupid in that his account was hacked, right?

These stories are a waste of time. Every conference and every school has or has had this happen. Move along

    SEC FAN DETECTED

I believe more goes on in the SEC then any other conference because of alot more top athletes, but this type of stuff goes on in every BCS conference.

Wrong. I am a Buckeye fan. I just don't care about these stories.

These stories are a waste unless there is a paper trail. Otherwise they will find nothing even when it's certain they did something wrong. Then they'll suspend people from using their meal card for lunch and move on

This yahoo one reportedly has quite the paper trail. I haven't looked at the whole thing, but from what's been reported it seems like it'll be hard to make this one go away.

Well I hope so. I thought it was another one with no real evidence. Guess maybe I should read up on it

The Fluker Tweet is stupid, only because once your part of the "game", you don't talk about the game or sell out like that. With that said, we all know it happens. The NCAA could easily find it if they wanted. They don't want to. If you looked hard enough, you could find serious stuff happening at every school ranked in the top 50 right now. What are you going to do? Slap all of them with penalties?

Oh, and even worse? The schools who are on the lower end, ESPECIALLY in basketball, are cheating to an even higher degree. Some of the recent cheating scandals at schools like Florida A&M and others just in the last 5 years are as deep-rooted as any other big name school.

    /SECfan'd :)

But seriously, you're exactly right, it happens everywhere.

It's just funny. Read some of the stuff they found at Central Florida or Florida A&M, and imagine if that stuff was documented at Alabama or Michigan in football or Duke or Kentucky in basketball. I mean, it's crazy the blatant nature of some of it. It's a small scale, with lesser known alumni, coaches and recruits, but if the principle is what's important, damn. The NCAA is looking in some of the wrong places then...

Hell, I've seen some of it first hand at a DIII school in Ohio. Non-scholarship athletes and rules being broken out the wazoo. It's slightly different than a scholarship athlete who signs a LOI, but many of the same NCAA rules apply and it's not only crazy some of the stories, but how out in the open it is. This might be a weird comparison, but it's almost like The Wire where certain streets were relegated to having deals go down, and everyone including law enforcement, the media and political figures knew it. Instead of doing anything about it, as long as it was self-contained, it didn't matter.

Hence, all of this stuff in this thread. If it was all self-contained, nobody would care. It's only until a certain media member gets a hard on for a specific story, or a player is disgruntled and speaks out, that it becomes a story. It happens in every case, and then the NCAA steps in and pretends it's such a serious violation and must need addressed.

Sorry for the long rant, BTW...

Agree with everything you said Azu, but if you get caught, you should have to pay the price. JMO, its ridiculous that the NCAA seems to pick and choose who they REALLY go after.

The name you're looking for is "Hamsterdam."

Hazen paid me cash directly in college. Less people involved less chance of getting caught.

I have seen first hand also at a DIII school. I'm not going to say if I benefited or not but a lot of us got a mysterious grant that paid for a lot of our schooling.

That's the thing though. When you're talking about huge universities and well-known athletic departments, theoretically all employees and athletes could be clean, but everything extends to alumni, fans, local businesses, media members, etc. All it takes is one person on the "inside" to feel the need to start something, and a story is born.

One of the five, and the only one still currently at the college level basically admits fault on twitter saying:
I want to apologize to everyone from my family, teammates n the Volnation. I'm sorry I let u guys down.

This one will stick for sure as far as the players receiving money because of the documentation provided it seems.
