Fucking Christ. Temple/NCST is at 1:40pm on Friday and IU to follow (around 4pm). I of course have to be at work by 5:30pm. Thanks God its a 16 this year.

No word on sat/sun, I think those time usually are released the day of the fri/th games.

I'm taking Friday off, thought about both days but couldn't force myself to do it.

    Yeah, I took Thursday off.

Worst part is I am going to be in flight to Orlando on Sunday from 2:30-5. I KNOW IU will be playing that timeslot.

I took off Thursday and Friday and will have people over from Thursday through Sunday with 3 big screens set up . Best time of the year!

Ohio State won. They need Deshaun to do what he does, whether you like it or not.

You mean chuck contested shots and miss them? Please, oh dear se-alum, please explain how someone shooting 32% from the floor and 0% from the 3 is good for the team. Hell, put me out there, I'm white and can brick a bunch of shots; what can he do that I can't? This will be good, can't wait!

    Score 17 points?

With 19 shots? I could easily do that. Why are you so willing to settle for a chucker? OSU can do better.

    Of course you could.

Thomas had a true shooting percentage of 39.3%, with 0.89 points per shot. Those are putrid numbers. The rest of the team had a 42.7% and 0.92, respectively.

He hurt the team by chucking up so many ill-advised shots. He scored a lot because he shot a lot, not because he was playing well. The rest of the team shot better than he did.

He's no Jon Deibler that's for sure.

But I don't believe Sleeper could score 19 points against Wisconsin if he took every shot.

And take him off this team and they would be struggling to make the NIT.

My guess is that it was part of the gameplan to have Thomas shooting and thereby opening things up for everyone else, if so, then it worked out pretty well. ;)

I'm skeptical. He's shooting under 44% (!) on the year. His three-point shooting is also down from last year. He's scoring more because he's putting up more shots.

17pts on 6-19 shooting isn't something to celebrate. It's a reason to have anyone else shoot.

That's probably about right. I have a prior engagement on Sunday afternoon so I am really worried about Duke's tip. Being that you are in TV, where do you think the Duke-Cincy/Creighton game or Albany-Cincy/Creighton (:D) will tip Sunday? I can't fathom it would be the noon game. I was thinking evening, around 5:30? Not sure if you would have an idea or not. I can't find anything anywhere.

I honestly have no clue. Sunday doesnt go into the late evening like Thurs/Fri/Sat though. Im HOPING IU is the early game so I can watch it at the airport or the late game which is at like 5pm usually, IIRC.

Hmm. I thought I remember last year's games going later on Sunday. I could definitely be wrong, though. I do know that for years and years, you are right, the 5:30 game was normally the last of the night.

The top seed from Thursday (or the top draw team nationally) generally plays on Saturday by itself at 1:00 or so (at least I know Duke has in previous years as the No. 1 seed), so I imagine IU will either get the early or late slot by itself on Sunday. But I could be wrong.

If Matta thought Thomas was hurting the team, he wouldn't be playing.

Matta is playing with fire. If Thomas ever hits on all the chuck shots, Ohio State will blow teams out. Ohio State wins because they play great defense not because they are efficient scorers. It'll come back to bite us when it counts most and I guess you are okay with that because we are obsessed with DeChuck Thomas.

It would be different if OSU had someone else that could score consistently, but the don't. Just recently have Thompson and Ross looked like they could give this team some scoring. Opposing coaches are going to game plan for Thomas, which gives the other guys opportunities, if Thomas wasn't in there, they would struggle greatly to put the ball in the basket.

Ross doesn't play defense. Otherwise, he's a much better player than Thomas.
