The Mountain West Conference is supposedly the best conference in the country.

I'll take any of the B1G tournament teams and they'd beat every one in that conference. I'd take the non-B1G tournament teams and they'd finish no worse than .500 in the MWC. The MWC is such a joke.

    Awesome thread. Riveting.

    Speaking of a joke......

I look for no less than 6 of their teams to advance to the Final 4

I think it's very possible that two teams from the Mountain conference are crowned national champion when it's all said and done.

    That's impossible dumbass.

Ah, right. I forgot that only one of the six Final Four teams can cut down the nets. I'm an idiot.

I was glad that CBS carried the MWC Champ game. Always great to see a former Hoosier in Alford.

I was surprised to see they were ranked that high. To me, that shows how skewed those things CAN be. Their success was def helped by the small number of teams in the conference I think. Plus...they do have some very good teams

ESPN was riding the MWC jock pretty hard they other day. And of course Barkley thinks the B1G is overrated.

The B1G is going to dominate this tournament. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see 3 or 4 B1G teams in the final four. MSU, OSU, and Indiana have a great shot.

I have 2 in my bracket...MSU and OSU. That was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

A non fun way to pick the brakcets is to pick zero upsets.
You usually will do better then if you pick with your brain/hearts! Upsets happen and it is fun to pick them, but in reality you may get one right but miss many, many other upsets you pick. Usually, the risk/reward doesnt pan out. For every one person who picked a butler or VCU to the FF there are millions of others who totally lose their brackets due to picking alot of upsets. If you think about it...if you pick a 12 over a 5 it is fun to say ya did it.....but in the long run more often then not that will yield you less correct picks then the boring way!!! It isnt the fun wayit.....but ever since I started to do it both ways the non upset was yields more correct picks.

Tne MWC was rated so highly because in-theory, they only had 1 bad team. Unlike other leagues who have 2-6 bottom feeders who drag everything down, they didn't. Wyoming went 4-12 in league, finishing 8th place, but still won 19 games. They didn't really play anyone, but that's still better than many other teams from power leagues who lost 5 or more non-conference games.

Currently on my bracket, I have all three of those in my final four. I'm debating on whether I'd change anything and, if so, what I'd change. Not an easy task.

In my bracket, I actually have only two Big Ten teams advancing past the second round. I have the Wisconsin Badgers in the Final Four and MSU in the Sweet 16. Interestingly enough, and this is bracket suicide, I just realized that I have three Atlantic 10 teams in the Elite Eight. Saint Louis (Elite Eight loisng to Duke), Temple (losing to Miami in Elite Eight) and VCU (losing to Florida in Elite Eight).

Temple and VCU are the two biggest risks there, being that Indiana and Kansas could just as easily stomp those teams if they were to play. I am still tossing around ideas because most of my current ideas are pretty stupid.

MSU will blow the fuck out of whatever 15, 7, or 10 seed it plays in the sweet 16. The 2 seed out there lost to freaking NIT bound Maryland. LOL

I have Indiana/OSU/MSU in the Final Four. I want to switch OSU cause I really like MSU, but the West is painfully terrible for confident Final Four picks. I really dont want MSU/OSU in the Final Four because that means IU has to play one for the 3rd time this year. I really dont want to see that (and yes, I am picking IU).

Basically, I will go against my better judgement because of what I dont want to see happen. It will probably end up being Louisville because I cannot rationally pick Gonzaga, New Mexico or Bo Ryan to the Final Four...nor Bruce Weber and K St.

The bolded part you did refers to Wyoming, not the league in general.

Sorry, that's what I get for not reading the post carefully, but it doesn't change my position as far as the MWC's tourney fate is concerned.
