I am so glad my behavior this season has met your standards.georgemc80;1404960 wrote:Eh. I don't post very often because my employer blocks this site now. But I do monitor on my phone. I haven't seen any reason to post this year. Duke fans are holding their own. Prescott has behaved himself. Sleeper is ignorant. But I am here in spirit. -
Heretic
Nah, I just think that since, unlike the old huddle, Trinity/Dukefan doesn't have his "good buddies with a mod" protected status, he'd be treated like the complete joke that a Duke BB/USC FB fan is.reclegend22;1404915 wrote:Nice to see another Duke fan on board. Now if we could just get Trinity back...that'd piss off a lot of people. And not sure whatever happened to keane. He was a good poster. I remember when the college bb forum on the Ohio High School Huddle used to be more than half Duke threads
"HAI GUYZ!!! I'm a fan of one of history's most successful college BB programs...and by pure coincidence, one of college FB's most successful programs...even though it's on the complete opposite side of this country!!!!" -

I haven't really disagreed with you. You do use facts. I like that. -

Yeah because Duke really gets screwed on that.... -

I just look at it this way, perhaps it will turn that already-large chip on his shoulder into a boulder. Seth's been discounted as terrible and nowhere in the same ballpark as his brother his whole career -- I do agree that he's not as good as his brother and that's fine, because Stephon is one of the best shooting guards in the League. And yet, Seth has 2,000 career points and more than 1,200 in just three years at Duke. He's one of the best shooters in the game and also one of its craftiest scorers, period. And if he hadn't been injured, Curry would be the best shooter and guard in the game hands down.ccrunner609;1405307 wrote:I cant stop scratching my head when I see Curry as a 2nd team player....the politics behind this kind of stuff is amazing.
After Seth is done at Duke, he's gonna play in the NBA. But there are still people who think he sucks and have said as much here. It's laughable. -
PrescottCurry has been really good this year, but so have Green and Larkin, Which of these 2 do you drop to the 2nd team and insert Curry?

I think you can make the argument that, while Curry has done enough to warrant first-team honors, so have Larkin and Green. Larkin outplayed Curry in both meetings with Duke, but I don't necessarily think that takes away from how great Curry was in many other high-profile ACC games and on the season as a whole. I also think that as good as he has been, Curry is somewhat limited in what he can do against super-quick, athletic guards because of his injury. It's just a fact of life.Prescott;1405500 wrote:Curry has been really good this year, but so have Green and Larkin, Which of these 2 do you drop to the 2nd team and insert Curry?
And I've already stated that Green deserved ACC POTY. Leading the country in scoring while at the same time being unselfish is just incredible.
Curry just drew the short end of the stick. -
PrescottSo,Curry on the 2nd team is the right choice.
-
reclegend22Not necessarily the right choice, no. It was moreso a choice made out of necessity, as one of the three had to be left out. Had Larkin been left out for Curry, or had Green even been left out (he did play on the 12th best team in the ACC, which is unprecedented for a conference player of the year, and he could easily have been penalized for it; although, as I have said, I think he's really a fantastic player), I think that would also have been the "right" choice.
-
PrescottWe disagree. Green was a no-brainer for the 1st team. As for Larkin, his team had the best conference record. To the victor goes the spoils.Winning counts and Larkin led his team to more league victories.

reclegend22Wake within three of Maryland -- 59 to 56 -- with just over five minutes left in Greensboro. I figured the Demon Deacons would be a very tough out in the ACC Tournament. It's basically a home game for Wake with all the in-state fans cheering for the underdog and the North Carolina team.
Maryland will probably win, but Wake is a team that can beat anyone on a given night. C.J. Harris is a really good player. -
ironman02Updated the original post to reflect the results of afternoon session.
BC 84, GT 64
NC State 80, Va Tech 63 -
reclegend22Maryland pulling away. Score not indicative at all of this game. Wake just completely stopped playing over the last two minutes. Unfortunate for Duke. I did not want to play Maryland again. They got size and a lot of it.
Duke will have its hands full. -

Maryland is definitely a team that could be tough for Duke. That's obvious because of what happened in College Park. However, I don't think lightning will strike twice. Duke will beat them this time, and comfortably, I would say.reclegend22;1405908 wrote:Maryland pulling away. Score not indicative at all of this game. Lol. Nice try. But I don't accept.ironman02;1405915 wrote:Maryland is definitely a team that could be tough for Duke. That's obvious because of what happened in College Park. However, I don't think lightning will strike twice. Duke will beat them this time, and comfortably, I would say.
I would much rather play the winner of Clemson/FSU. I was really hoping that Florida State would finish in the seventh spot. Carolina got a nice draw. -

Yeah, I do like Carolina's draw for the quarterfinals. Would've liked to see Duke in the other half of the bracket after last week, but if Part III happens, the Heels will do their best. -
BieberSucksI agree, I think Duke wins by 8-10 points. Would have much rather played Wake though. We'll see if Bzedelik survives the offseason.
-
ironman02Evening session of Round 1...
Maryland 75, Wake 62
FSU 73, Clemson 69 -
BieberSucksNice slate of games today, I have a feeling BC is going to give Miami a game, they are playing really well right now. Hoping for Duke and UNC to win so I can see them play in G-boro tomorrow, tickets will plummet if one loses.
-
Ironman92Fuck Duke. God they piss me off. I simply cannot watch them. All the great wins they have had....not when I watch....every time they play like shit, yeah I'm watching.
Watching Cuse/Gtown and turned over for 90 real time seconds and watch them shoot 2 shots that never touched the rim and gave up a wide open layup.
Fuck them, they lost to the god damn Lehigh Tartlets last year maybe they can repeat that suck down and lose to 15 seed Cuga Tech this year. -

friendfromlowryDuke down by seven now. Only a couple minutes away from bowing out in the ACC quarterfinals (it is the quarterfinals, right?) They're quite inconsistent.
-
Ironman92Locked in at a #2 seed....doesn't matter.
They'll lose 65-62 in the first round....some random slasher dude will go for about 30 -
Fly4FunI didn't watch the game, but I'm assuming Ryan Kelly played right?

Yes he was 3-11 from the field for 8 points.
