Azubuike24With the exposure of the SEC behind A&M, having the Heisman winner on their team, playing in the Cotton Bowl, etc...I'd almost guarantee A&M will get even more than the 37 million.
I mean most of us don't like it, but look at the money the SEC, B1G and Pac 12 are making from media contracts alone. It's crazy. -

Possibly, but that is because of the team, coach, conference, program traditon, and Johnny Manziel. Not solely because of Manziel.Azubuike24;1395298 wrote:With the exposure of the SEC behind A&M, having the Heisman winner on their team, playing in the Cotton Bowl, etc...I'd almost guarantee A&M will get even more than the 37 million.

As for your previous post, there isnt much I can disagree with. The fact that Manziel has been in college for less than 2 years means there is a fair possibility he isnt in his degree program yet, and there are online classes available for the GE courses. Still doesnt mean I buy into his reasoning and cant call out the douche-baggery. -
Azubuike24I can agree with that. It goes back to the whole point of "why is this even a story?"
Most college kids would probably respond to the "why" by saying...well, I can sleep in, take my classes without leaving my room and because I think it's easier. Bam. I think we could all appreciate where someone at that point in life is coming from. -

You're flat incorrect. Increases in alumni giving alone are tens of millions for the Heisman-winning school.Pick6;1395285 wrote:10s of millions of dollars is an exaggeration if I've ever heard one. How about the school giving him a chance to make 10s of millions in the NFL? -

I think that is something that would vary school to school, as well as being impossible to target exactly how much winning the Heisman winner had to do with it, considering that being a Heisman winner and the team having a great season correlate directly with one another.queencitybuckeye;1395311 wrote:You're flat incorrect. There are a few variables aside from Manziel that could cause an increase in the amount alumni donate; such as a new conference, a new head coach, and a great season compared to a shitty one last year where they went 6-6 in the big 12. -
AutomatikI follow Manziel on instagram. The kid is definitely living the life and people are pissed as hell about it.

vball10setWhere there's smoke, there's fire. Just sayin'.

lhslep134I think Manziel has become my favorite non-OSU player. Absolutely gaming the NFL development system known as college. I'm jealous, but that jealousy isn't based on hatred, and it intrigues me that some people would be up in arms about it.

Precisely. I totally approve of what he's doing.lhslep134;1395770 wrote:I think Manziel has become my favorite non-OSU player. Absolutely gaming the NFL development system known as college. Thought that was for women? Or ******s. -
AutomatikSame here, I don't have an issue with any of it. If an OSU player were doing this it would be celebrated.
He's wealthy already and I'm sure he has a team looking out for him. I highly doubt you see any issues due to his off the field behavior. -

It's for anyone. Awesome app, great for time wasting. -
sleeperI don't have a problem with him, but I bet he's breaking all sorts of NCAA rules and Texas A&M isn't being punished for it. I wish the SEC would follow the rules like everyone else; the whole conference needs to be DP'd.

It's not hard to break an NCAA rule though. Hell if you piss in the wrong toilet it's a violation -
Azubuike24Well, A&M did come from the Big 8. That's pretty much where rule-breaking of the nature we know it today started.
Quite honestly though, I'd be surprised if they were caught. I'd bank on other schools before them, without a doubt. -

Or his wife monitors his computer usage and doesn't let him download anything, so he decided that it's better for his self-esteem to mock various programs and apps instead of coming to terms with the reality of that situation.Automatik;1395826 wrote:Nah, vodka, extra dirty.

Good point. Instagram is full of hot women to browse. TiernanI hope he gets hit by a bus. Then the bus driver panics and backs over him again.

Pick6@Shane_Hinckley MYTH: Schools make tons of $ off player jersey sales. FACT: Texas A&M made $44K from July-Dec.
