Cal @ #1 Kansas
-
SportsAndLadyPretty good game so far.
Cal is playing well for an unranked team on the road. -
reclegend22Really good game. Surprising considering it's in Allen.
46 all with 16 minutes left. -
SportsAndLadyWell Cal just couldn't keep consistently hitting shots like they were the first 25 minutes of the game.
Kansas wins 84-69.
For the first time this season against a quality team, KU actually played well. I've been critical of them this season, sometimes they just look like they're not giving 100%, but tonight they actually played like I thoguht they would all season. -
MulvaGutierrez for Cal pisses me off. He looks like Rick Gonzalez (spanish from old school) combined with Sasha Vujacic.
Anyways, tough stretch for KU right now. @ Temple and @ Tennessee coming up will both be great tests. Cornell isn't a pushover either. They won't win at KU, but the Jayhawks shouldn't sleep on them. Wins over Bama, UMass, St. John's already. -
Phog AllenCal is good. They will contend and are still my pick to win the Pac-10. They still aren't at full strength but played well tonight. The Cal team you saw play KU for the first 25 minutes is the Cal you will get come March. A great shooting team that plays really hard. That is a dangerous team come March. KU simply kept throwing bodies at them and eventually wore them down.
What is exciting for KU fans is that the Jayhawks are 11-0 and still have yet to play anywhere close to their potential. KU just got 2 players back and I fully expect Cole Aldrich to hit his stride soon. Many don't know that he has broncitis and that he has been dealing with the potential death of his beloved grandmother since just before Thanksgiving. In fact, last night Aldrich and his family were boarding a plane immediatly after the game just to try to get Cole back up to Minnesota to see her one more time before she passes away. Rough spot for the young man.
KU does have two really tough road games coming up @ Temple (who already beat Nova) and @ Tennessee. Many have picked the Tennessee game as the one KU will lose in the nonconference. Both will be tests but IMO KU wins both.
