Biggest Upset Ever?

I can understand. "Being with you has ruined my life and now you're going to do the same to that poor she-male, too?!?!?!"ccrunner609;1385471 wrote:My wife was pretty upset when she met my girlfriend
S&L, I was reading Pat Forde's column on Yahoo today and have some GREAT news. He said that according to one of the number junkies that Kansas' loss was only the second-biggest upset of the year according to probability percentages. The biggest: Ohio's loss to Winthrop in the non-conference part of the year.
In other words, the college you attended and the one you primarily cheer for suffered the two biggest upsets of the year to date. FEEL! THE! PRIDE! -

Yeah..that was a big upset...but not even close to being close to the biggest upsets of all time. Nova was in the finals for crying out loud. It may have been the biggest finals upset......but not biggestall timeytownfootball;1384754 wrote:1985 Title game was pretty big upset (Villanova over Georgetown), but over all biggest would be as mentioned above. -
Manhattan BuckeyeHas to be Chaminade over Virginia....Ralph Sampson was one of the most dominant college players of all time (injuries frustrated his NBA career) and had a very good supporting cast. Chaminade had guys that weren't even offered scholarships at a halfway decent program. It would be like Rio Grande upsetting Ohio St.

After your post in the other thread and your proclivity for going out of your way to hate on Duke, I don't even have to open this link to know what you are posting.dlazz;1389133 wrote:http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=320760150
But, if nothing else, I guess I will take it as a compliment that you consider Duke to have been a powerhouse team last year. The reality, however, is that Duke was a very average one. Therefore, Lehigh beating Duke was not a surprise at all. Making that point would have actually helped your argument that "Duke sucks." Calling it the greatest upset of all-time indicates that Duke fielded the best team ever last season. -

Not saying it's one of the greatest of all time, but it deserves a mention. Lehigh should lose to Duke 99 times out of 100 based on recruits only -
Prescottduke losing to Lehigh was an epic tournament upset, not an overall epic upset. Lehigh was in the tournament for a reason, they weren't a bad team.

Azubuike24Duke was a 12-point favorite against Lehigh.
As I said before, Norfolk State was a 21-point underdog to Missouri. That was a far bigger upset.
Duke/Lehigh only gets discussed more because the game involved Duke... -

and that's because Duke should've stomped themAzubuike24;1389311 wrote:Duke/Lehigh only gets discussed more because the game involved Duke... -

That has nothing to do with it.dlazz;1389365 wrote:and that's because Duke should've stomped them
As I said, why do you not hear at all about Norfolk State over Missouri? 21-point spread (Duke/Lehigh was 12) yet conversations seem to always fall back on the Duke/Lehigh game? Why?
It has nothing to do with the result. It has to do with the name "Duke." -

Missouri isn't a perennial contenderAzubuike24;1389497 wrote:

Azubuike24Neither is Virginia. That result gets brought up all the time...

During the Bevo Francis years, I would have given Rio Grande a decent chance.Manhattan Buckeye;1388162 wrote:Has to be Chaminade over Virginia....Ralph Sampson was one of the most dominant college players of all time (injuries frustrated his NBA career) and had a very good supporting cast.
