You left out the #1 factor, oversigning

Not the #1 factor at all. Top players and the top coach, and top facilities will get you titles. And as I said, they play teams like UK and Tenn for their 2 East games while LSU plays UF every year and play USCe or UGA for the other game. Bama has two guarantees while LSU has 50% chance in winning either game.

Thought the SEC finally implemented a rule against oversigning?

Dunno. But on other sites people are saying that the fanbases that complain about the SEC are doing it themselves.

It was some sort of half-ass rule that still allows them to sign, I believe, 28 players per year, no matter how many open schollies there actually are.

How did A&M and UGA get over 30 then?

They implemented a rule about each year, but they can still go however many over 85 they want but they have to be at 85 come fall. I think after today Alabama is at like 97.

    greyshirting.

I guess the former OC (Cam Cameron) of the Ravens accepted the OC job at LSU. Dont know much about him. Guess he got fired week 14, but has developed QB's like Brees, Rivers, and now Flacco. Anything has to be better than our past OC.....that is unless Miles still has control over the offense.

ND fans, I read an article on Gunner Kiel. Is he going to stay at ND?
  • karen lotz
what's the article? I would think he'd stick around for at least another year to see if he can get some PT. Rees and Hendrix will both be gone after 2013, Hendrix likely won't play at all and if Gunner can show that he can run the offense this spring, he could go into the fall as the #2. Kelly isn't shy about playing multiple QBs obviously plus Golson got dinged up 3 or 4 times this year and missed the BYU game entirely. His playing style doesn't really match up with his body at this point, so there will be playing time available for at least whoever can win the backup role.

eh that doesn't have much information, just a speculative blog post. Like I said, he'll have an opportunity to move up the depth chart this spring/summer/fall and I'd be shocked if he didn't earn playing time this fall. Hopefully he has the chest for the competition.

Yeah, the article didnt say much. Didnt know if you or others heard anything else/more.

nah there hasn't been much said about him other than the random discussion of a possible transfer that crops up with back up qbs every year around this time. the general consensus is he is really enjoying Notre Dame and the team, and he wants to play. If he out performs Golson, I think Kelly would be just fine with letting him run the show.

Didn't we all speculate last year that keil would probably leave at some point. Kid seems like a head case to a degree.

    a head case? I don't think that's too accurate.

if that were the case he would have gone to Indiana and started from day one. what are you basing him being afraid of competition on? not going to LSU?

That and the rumors of him maybe transferring. Dont hold not going to iu against him. Who the fuck would want to go there.

oh, rumors from message boards about him transferring mean he is afraid of competition. Makes sense.

Maybe Gunner wants to win a BCS bowl game before his time is done. ND is about the last place that will happen.

Bama and their over signing. Still #1 at doing it. Along with the deer antler spray and players robbing people. Bama loves the news.
