SportsAndLadyOver/Under 7.5 homosexual NFL players right now
I'm taking the Over -
gorocks99If there are about 1,700 active players, odds say there should be at least 50 in the NFL (matching the 3.4% U.S. gay population estimates)
-
sleeperThat depends if Shazier likes guys.

It's really only 3.4% of the population? I always thought it was around 8-10%.gorocks99;1369002 wrote:If there are about 1,700 active players, odds say there should be at least 50 in the NFL (matching the 3.4% U.S. gay population estimates)
But yes, over the 7.5 number given. -

I'm going off this report from Gallup.Fly4Fun;1369032 wrote:It's really only 3.4% of the population? I always thought it was around 8-10%.

Can't really use a national average for something that is as segmented/special as the NFL.gorocks99;1369037 wrote:I'm going off this report from Gallup.
I don't know what the number is, but that would be like saying, since 10% of the US population is physically handicapped, that means X amount of NFL players are physically handicapped too. -
gorocks99
Fair enough. But I dunno how you would segment the NFL then. It might be a higher rate in the NFL, given that the rate among African-Americans is higher than overall, and the rate among younger Americans is higher than overall as well.Scarlet_Buckeye;1369113 wrote:Can't really use a national average for something that is as segmented/special as the NFL.

sleeperThere's probably only 1 or 2 guys in the NFL that are gay. Hard to be gay and be good at sports.

I think it's definitely lower. While not all homosexual men are your typical feminine guys, most are. And seeing as how there is nothing feminine about the League, I think you will find that there's not a lot of homosexual men in the League.gorocks99;1369123 wrote:Fair enough. Now, that's not to say that there aren't any homosexuals in the League. Of course there's bound to be. I'm not going to say that there aren't some... "masculine homosexuals"... and I'm sure there is... and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if a few of them were in the League. But simply put, most homosexual men fall on the "feminine" side than the "masculine" side. -

Martina Navratilova, Megan Rapinoe and Greg Looseanus are the only ones at the elite level I can think of right now. I'm sure there are more, but none that come to mind.sleeper;1369124 wrote:There's probably only 1 or 2 guys in the NFL that are gay. Hard to be gay and be good at sports. -

It's probably closer to 6%. In some cities like San Francisco and Seattle, the percentage is much higher.Fly4Fun;1369032 wrote:It's really only 3.4% of the population? I always thought it was around 8-10%.
