The Truth about Notre Dame's Defense this Year

Then why the lol c'mon? Are you disagreeing with him?

I was unaware that he received the most awards in one year until last night.

I just don't think he had the season to warrant ALL of those awards. So years from now, looking back at all the great players, Te'o will be known as the "most decorated" ever (unless he's surpassed).....that is the reason for my "c'mon"

He's a very solid player, but not as outstanding as he's made out to be. Musberger said he was one of the "most decorated players of all time"....lol...c'mon.

I agree with this...not his fault but with his back story and it being nd...it is a media dream scenario. Solid player, just nothing outstanding

Te'o's only missed 2 tackles all year?

    LOL

    LOL

That's what Herbie said during College Gameday yesterday. Said he watched all of ND's defensive plays from season and Te'o played 98% of defensive snaps and only missed 2 tackles all year long. Probably tripled or quadrupled that number last night.
  • karen lotz
Yeah McShay or Kiper went back and watched every snap of ND's defense this year and charted Te'o's play.

Okay. Thought Herbie said he himself watched it but now that you mention it I think it was McShay that actually watched it and Herbie said it yesterday.

Yup they first mentioned it at the Heisman ceremony.

That's what I'm saying. Last night was the first entire game I've seen him play. I was lead to believe it was gonna be special watching him. It wasn't. He will play on Sundays. But ray lewis he is not.

I feel i should also clarify i didn't just mean backs and tight ends. Hes going to be going against nfl lines next year what i saw last night is worrisome. Kouandjio is 1 year away eligibility wise and he put teo down a couple times.

Navy...offense was one of the weakest in years. Could barely score on Army
Purdue..Next to Minnesota, the worst offense in the Big 10
Michigan State....Worst offense for Sparty in at least 10 years
    Michigan.....decent offense
    Miami...not very good this year
Stanford...Very average...they won games with their defense
    BYU....worst offense for BYU....probably ever
Oklahoma... Landrey Jones played like a pig all year
    Pitt...offense that scared nobody
    Boston College...atrocious
    Wake...worse than atrocious
Southern Cal...the loud mouthed freshman quarterback proved how horrible he is in their bowl game embarrassment.

Tonight they played a real offense....
Your expert scientific analysis and mathematical breakdown really showed me he truth about Notre Dame's defense this year.

I don't really care who you played, if you do what they did on defense this year as consistently as they did, then you're defense was good. The national championship game was the anomaly, not the other 12 games they played.

I guess they watched him jump on a lot of piles to get those "2 missed tackles" then...

Other than the "missed 2 tackles" bit, he was dead on. The truth hurts.

Ok, so he's currently a third round prospect and after the combine fee will be projected liter than that? That is the truth you are referring to?

Simply he's not that good. ESPN and NBC made him out to be someone he's not. If there was an National Championship for making faces for 4 quarters, he'd be the runaway winner. He's not on the level of Willis, Laurinaitis, Kuchely, Hightower, (ILB), etc. He's a 3rd rounder at best. His stock will drop even further at the combine as well. Dude is a fraud, just admit it.

You probably couldn't even name the schools Willis and kuchely went to without looking it up. And I bet you 2 mill you didn't even watch them play a snap on college.

Third round was probably a stretch, but everything I'm seeing says he's slipped out of the first.
  • karen lotz
No doubt NBC and ESPN helped his Heisman campaign. The rest of his post is a joke and comes off as butthurt because his beloved Shazier didn't get more love. Truth hurts.

Really? You need to read more it would appear.
  • Automatik
Shazier has plenty of time left and will more than likely be taken higher than Te'o, but that's not what this is about.

Te'o went from a top 10 lock, to a 2nd rounder or possibly later. He couldn't hang against Bama, what will he do against the elite of the NFL? Of course 1 game isn't a tell all, but GMs take notice.

Oh, Patrick Willis Ole Miss. Luke Kuchely, Boston College. Patick Willis was a man beast when he was there and was the only bright spot on his team, unstoppable force at ILB. Kuchely was a tackling machine at BC and had great instincts and rarely missed a tackle. How's that for you?

Ok, I admit the 3rd round thing was a bit of a joke. This has nothing to do about Shazier. This is me basing everything I've seen from through the course of the season.

I have honestly not seen one mock draft that has Te'o falling out of the 1st round. Not one from the ones that I've googled and looked at. I said it in regards to Brian Kelly and I'll say it about Te'o...it was a dreadful performance in a big game but it was one game. Do you really think scouts are gonna look at one game and forget the other 12? Or better yet the rest of his career? That's just ridiculous.
