Conference Championship Random Chatter

jpake1A great drive, then they shit the bed. I blame it on coaching and the QB. Does a QB really need to be told to spike the ball in those situations? Maybe that haven't given him that rope to make those calls. Even worse, a staff should be calling for it anyways. As a previous poster said, they let some seconds slip the first time, then made the next bonehead play. If you spike it with 14sec, you get 3 plays. A play usually doesn't last 7sec that close to the endzone, so I think they would have had 3 trys. I'm not surprised though. I'm not a very big fan of their coach, but he had them more prepared than he usually does in big games. FUCK, I hate this championship game now ha.

That fanbase has been wanting to run him out of town for years for an inability to win big games.
A bonehead play like that to end a chance to play for the NT encapsulates his time at UGA, and it is why he has perennially been on the hotseat for the past few years.
This is true.
Every year Richt "almost" gets fired. He's safe now, but tonight's ending was definitely indicative of his time in Athens -
jordo212000I know that special circumstances hurt the B1G & ACC championship games (bad teams playing because of sanctions) but it seems like these conference championship games are actually losing momentum. Nobody pays attention to these games. Only the SEC game

When there is only one bowl game that matters, nobody really gives a fuck. These games will pick up once the playoff system comes. -
RotinajLol I think you guys might actually want to look at what Richt has done.

It has definitely hurt the past couple years, because the SEC game has ended up operating essentially as a de facto National Semifinal game. Plus, one of the championship game teams this year was an independent, so there was only 1 spot in question this weekend instead of two. Hell, I think the Big 12 going back to 10 teams and not having a game makes it more boring because they always had good, relevant championship games. The sanctions out the ass affecting games this year was just the kill shot.jordo212000;1334230 wrote:I know that special circumstances hurt the B1G & ACC championship games (bad teams playing because of sanctions) but it seems like these conference championship games are actually losing momentum. But every year there are going to be some championships that are more important than others, just so happens it's been the SEC the past couple times. It'll change to someone else eventually, it's all cyclical. -

So you don't think a 7-5 Wisconsin team who finished 4 games behind OSU makes it cool? Haha seriously bowl band need to be done away with, just don't let them get any money for going. After seeing UCLA play Oregon last year I was fed up with itjordo212000;1334230 wrote:I know that special circumstances hurt the B1G & ACC championship games (bad teams playing because of sanctions) but it seems like these conference championship games are actually losing momentum. ts1227I was waiting for that Wisconsin guy to get nailed with a BS personal foul for the hand in the air for a solid 20 yards, and the TD taken back off.

jordo212000Big 12 will have 12 teams again soon. Especially with all the expansion going on. B1G supposedly going to 16 and the ACC supposedly scoping out the Big East leftovers

ts1227HOLY SHIT TAYLOR MARTINEZ
-
ptown_trojans_1What an amazing run by Martinez. Wow.
-
Terry_TateDamn what a play. I'm actually at the game and looked like he had no chance on that one. Who says the B1G isn't exciting????

LJStadium looks like a MAC game

Was it like that last year too?LJ;1334252 wrote:Stadium looks like a MAC game -
krambmanNebraska's vaunted Black Shirt defense is pretty bad at defense. Especially when you consider how bad Wisconsin has been at offense all year.
-
RotinajDid I hear correctly that this is the 3rd year in a row that Martinez has the most fumbles in the country? Seems like he hasn't gotten any better over his career.
-
Terry_TateNebraska's defense getting destroyed. Wisconsin has had great play calling though. Nebraska needs a turnover to get momentum.
-
Fly4FunReally starting to look like the 3rd place team in their division will be the conference champion... what a joke.
I'm not even mad.
It's just funny and pathetic. -
imex99Didn't expect wisky to roll like this.... Could get very ugly.

ts1227Over/Under was 51 at kickoff, lol

I would say he's a top 10 coach in the country. It's not like Georgia is some powerhouse school and he's underachieving. Unless Chris Petersen comes out and expresses interest in the job, they aren't gonna get an upgrade. I would rather have the guy who "can't win big games" (with his 2 BCS bowl wins) vs. another guy who wouldn't even reach big games because UGA would go back to losing 3-4 every year.IggyPride00;1334224 wrote:Have you been following college football for more than a year?

WebFireWTF is going on in the B1G game? I just turned it on at half. Holy hell!
-
WebFireNebraska is getting downright embarrassed.
-
wes_mantoothLol...man, the big ten sucks. This is just amusing
-
the_systemNice TD reception and an amazing block called back because football is soft now. Seriously? How is that block a penalty?
