Ohio State - AP National Champions thread

  • jordo212000
Okay guys, we need some chaos but here's to hoping we still can get a share of the national title.

Some are saying that the holier than thou writers will hold the sanctions against us and not vote us up there.

I don't see it happening. They would need Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Oregon to all lose. If any of those 5 teams don't lose, they finish ahead of OSU in the AP poll. Regardless, whoever wins the BCS title probably still finishes ahead of OSU, IMO.

    Don't care. We're 12-0, and the nation knows it....especially tsun ;)

I really don't care too much. If it happens it happens. OSU had a great season and won all the games on the schedule which is all we as fans can ask.

This is a team that was 6-7 last year. No reason to knock this team.

Notre Dame definitely has to lose, but then after that a sloppy national championship game could be enough to get us in there.

If they are the only undefeated team, they should win it.

    False. 6-6*

Thats what logic would say, but doubt it will happen.

No, they were 6-7, lost to Florida in a bowl game... If you're trying to be technical about "year" then yes, they were 6-6 last year. But they were 6-7 last season, which is what I was obviously referring too.

Penn State vacated all of their wins last season.

Something else to consider...OSU might be a distant memory in January. It will have been a long time since OSU played by then. And couple that with some writers not voting for them because of sanctions.

Enjoy the 12-0, the Michigan win, and get ready for next year.

We lost on the field. It was a 6-7 team.

Even with the vacating of the win, it takes away the W from Penn State, but I believe OSU still keeps the L officially. Even the official OSU site has it as a 6-7 season with a loss against Penn Stat.

Sweet, then I guess Michigan can claim this was their first loss to OSU since 2009.

The win was vacated, not the loss/the entire game. Technically, OSU lost even though no one won. It's retarded but it's how it works.

Worked the same way for OU in 2010. OSU smashed us, but after all of the sanctions they didn't technically win it, but we still lost it.

If someone told you back in July that TOSU would run the table and not get the AP crown I would think you'd be happy. They did and I am.

The B1G being so weak is what hurt them the most this year. But I still think my comment above will stand true regardless.

No chance at an AP championship nor should there be any. After Michigan drops out of the rankings this week they will have 1 top 25 win. It was a great season and will have their chance at championship next season.

OSU will be a in a similar situation next year though. Their schedule is ridiculously easy.

They will be at worst a top 4 team though to start the season, which will help.

They have 3 top 25 wins.

That is true. Start high, stay high. Be hard to vote them down if they keep winning.
