Legends Classic (Barclays Center) -- Indiana vs Georgetown Title Game (10pm)

  • Laley23
Tonight is the start with the Semifinals:

    1. Indiana vs Georgia - ESPNU - 5:30pm
    11. UCLA vs Georgetown - ESPN2 - 8:00pm or 30 minutes after first game.

Finals are tomorrow between the two winners, again after the 3rd place game.

I think the most interesting thing in game 1, because I think IU will rout Georgia, is Bobby Knight calling the game. First time since the firing he will HAVE to talk about Indiana. It should be pretty interesting. He will either come off like an arrogant tool who is still holding a ridiculous grudge and ruin the broadcast, go about his business as a professional and it will be fine or actually do something regarding Indiana outside of his job. Shake hands or soemthing. Afterall, Calbert Cheany is an assistant and he played for Knight. It would be a shame if he didnt even chat with Calbert tonight.

We will also get to see Shabazz for the first time. Pumped for a UCLA - Indiana final if it happens now that Bazz is eligible.

    Ill take:
    IU 82
    Georgia 61

    UCLA 61
    Georgetown 54

If Otto Porter is out for Georgetown, that game might be ugly.

Otto Porter playing for GTown tonight. Really excited to see Bazz play.

Also, IU was horrendous offensively in the first 25 minutes. Then they turned it on and frankly, Georgia had no chance after that. Oladipo took over and Hulls is, imo, the best shooter in America.

Zeller looked absolutely lost. Only happened a few times last year. Looked like he was waiting for the double instead of just going quickly. But oh well, IU is deep, especially when Perea and Elston return from suspension and injury.

lol. Crean making some BOLD PREDICTIONS. I doubt either come true. Hulls in the NBA? Doubt it. Georgia winning 25? Doubt it, though that has a MUCH better chance of happening.

Yea no way they win 25. They're 1-3 right? They lost to YSU.

Knight was good tonight. Other then saying he'd shoot a player. But I lol'd

Yeah, Crean always tries to talk up teams after they play them. I dont know if its to make the media think they are better, or because he doesnt want to put down his opponents or what. But Georgia was really bad. If IU wasnt just superior in talent, they wouldve been in a dogfight instead of pulling away.

And Knight was pretty good. He was a true professional (finally). I find him to be somewhat boring at times, but he was good. Its worst when he is with Musberger. I also really loved that line though. He was on Jursivic (sp) the entire game about shooting 3s lol.

Jordan Hulls is like Matt Roth on blow.

While probably not an NBA player, Hulls is really, really good at the college level. Maybe even great. He definitely has a great shot, one of the most consistent I've seen in awhile. You just expect the shot to drop every time.

And Knight is the greatest. I could listen to him all day. He's a natural when it comes to the analysis of basketball.

Well, I know its early, but Ill say Indiana will be playing Georgetown in the final tomorrow. UCLA is young and doesnt look like they have a clue against the Goergetown zone.

Shabazz didnt start either half and had 2 pts on 1/4 shooting in first half.

    Otto Porter is very efficient.

Georgetown has a lot of really long, big shooters. The perfect guys for Thompson's Princeton system. I suspect the Hoyas are flying way under the radar right now compared to where they will end up by the end of the year.

The brightest part of Shabazz's game tonight has been his shoes. So that's not very efficient.

And Shabazz hits a couple of threes to end the game. He finishes with 15. In limited action, and after being held out of the first couple of games of the year, I suppose it's about as good a debut as one could expect.

Georgetown-Indiana might be great tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.

Are they in the middle of a fire drill at the Barclays Center? There are more people on the court than in the stands.

The attendance at this event has been dreadful.

Georgetown was very efficient last year, but I think both Jason Clark and Henry Sims had serious limitations. Whittington, Starks and Porter are all more talented and I'd say upgrades. The Hoyas will be title contenders next year IMO.

D--- Vitale now shouting some nonsense about John Cougar Mellencamp. It is time for him to take his Ambien and for me to go to bed.

I had a feeling this game would be great tonight. It was.

Tough game. Hoyas are, again, underrated to start the year. They have some shooters on that team.

Good win for Indiana and with Butler making the finals of the Maui, their OOC schedule doesnt look half bad with GTown/UNC/Butler. Still wish they had another tough game and I really wish it was on the road.

Next calendar year I'm assuming you mean?
