But what the Buckeyes have done is pile up wins, 10 straight now, and there's really nothing a bowl game could do to validate this season that winning the last two games won't.
Remember, at this time last year, the program was in disarray. Meyer hadn't been hired, interim coach Luke Fickell was about to go on a four-game losing streak and nobody knew for sure how bad the NCAA penalties would be.
"On and off the field, it was rough," linebacker Etienne Sabino said. "You didn't know what was going on week to week or who was going to play or who was going to be suspended or whatever. It felt like a dark cloud was over us."

Hope Urban 3:16 blows out Wisky and their fat turd of a coach

    Wisky by 14

Why? What indicates they would smoke OSU like that? Every quality team they've played has been extremely close. Their 3 losses were from a combined 9 points (mich st, oregon st, and nebraska)

Urban Meyer has had 2 weeks to prepare for them.

It's is possible Wisky COULD win by 14.. just would like an explanation behind your prediction if you could so kindly provide one.

    I want this game...BAD.

If we go into UM week undefeated, look the fuck out. Cbus is gonna be OFF DA HOOOOOOOK.
  • stlouiedipalma
It always worries me going into Camp Randall for football, but at least this one isn't a night game. I think the Buckeyes defense is up to the task of stopping Ball, et al and shutting down the Wisky offense. The Wisconsin defense, on the other hand, has no idea of what they are in for Saturday. I'm going with the Bucks, by a 31-10 score.

Being away is a big concern for all of us. Good thing for us, we travel well, and always have a great home stand even in away Buckeye games.

Urban has as amazing record in match-ups coming off of bye weeks...is 12-1.

So I have a feeling this team may be more prepared for this game than they should be.

I worry more about next week...and the sets of gold pants that are on the line.

This may be in another thread but i don't feel like looking - Why does Braxton Miller clap before every snap?

Let's the center know he can snap it. They don't use a snap count.

Doesn't it give the D an advantage?
  • Raw Dawgin' it
Not having a snap count just seems dumb - Def. can time the count and they're never off guard.

It's to let the center know that he (the center) can start the cadence. It's not actually a signal to snap the ball.

It just makes them seem like a pee wee team. I know they're 10-0 but it just doesn't make sense to me. Between that and them running the option all time I find them to be unwatchable.

There's your solution then. Don't watch.
The clap is to let the center know the QB is ready, and they're on him now. It's not always and immediate snap as soon as he claps if you notice. The offense is going on the ball. It's just like when Troy Smith would drop his right hand when in shotgun, or a QB lifting his right leg.

You see a lot with that version of the spread.

"Unwatchable," with this offense? I take it you didn't watch much of the JT era.

It's the same as a knee raise. They are just using noise so the center can focus on the blocking assignments rather than looking back at the qb

My wife is an alum so i end up watching. I find the option very annoying and I've never seen any other team clap before every snap. I prefer more pro style offenses, they just look like Florida circa Meyer and Tebow to me.

They're winning so it's obviously working, just not a fan of the way they play and I was curious why he claps before every snap and never uses any sort of count or takes a snap under center. Just not my style of football.
  • Automatik
I prefer a more pro style approach also, but I knew this was coming with the hiring of Urban.

It's night and day compared to JT's style and it's growing on me. I like running the rock for 250+ a game.

Can't say I'm a fan of either coach, but winning games is what matters.

Buckeyes. Big. Very confident in OSU +3.

Right. I wasn't 100% accurate with what I said. The center is either calling a cadence or can snap it anytime after the clap. This is what prevents the defense from having the advantage RawDawg talked of. They can't just time the clap and assume an immediate snap.

I'm not a big fan of it either, but it's semantics. RRod did this at Michigan too.

Urbie needs to send a message to Bilema his whiney ass is no longer tolerated in the B1G and from now on Whisky is back in the herd with Purdue, Ind, Minn, IO, ILL and NW.

Ohio St is irrelevant this year without being in the polls and no pundits talking about them. They are simply serving there rightful punishment which I find hilarious because they could have served it last year but they were to arrogant. I will be honest in that I was more pumped for the Indiana game than I am for this Ohio St game.

Do OSU fans remind anyone else MSU fans lately. "HEY WE BEAT YOU LAST YEAR (and then lost the division)." "Wasn't that one win great." Seems the roles have reversed a bit. And I don't think they rush the field. The game will be locked up by the end of the third

I find it comical that a team that got caught cheating, has an 0-9 record vs the SEc in modern era, is 10 months removed from a 6 win season and is bowl ineligible is frankly saying anything.Speaks volumes about how in DENIAL this fan base is in terms of accountability and owning up to what really occurred in cbus in the last decade.

We were way more pumped up to play Indiana because the game mattered. The problem is you can't handle the truth. Ohio State is irrelevant this year. That is why it is way better to be almost any team but OSU. All you guys have to talk about is what could have been if you were not cheaters.
The game is so irrelevant that we might sit guys out to let them rest. Game, set, match now go away.

Nope. It is indisputable that OSU is irrelevant this year. Win or lose UW is in the B1G title game. Win or lose OSU sits at home for the post season because their previous coach is a liar. Anyone with an IQ over 50 gets this.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I say, rush the field and spit on Meyer.

This is the thing that worries me about being osu's rivals. Right now we only have to deal with them about one week a year. The more we beat them the more insecure and annoying they get. It's almost worth it to forfeit the game.

    Badger8843

will your coach blame his health after we beat you?

OSU is generally disliked, Urban's arrival certainly didn't help their likability. OSU was the oringal Big Ten school to entirely sell out its academic mission in the name of football, so at least they were a pioneer in that sense, I guess

You also got lucky to beat Purdue and we smoked them and you went 6-6 last year, what bowl game did you go to last year? I dont remember because we won the Big Ten again and played in a BCS game

OK, I'll bite and say it: "I hate Ohio State." You have more posters on visiting boards than the rest of the conference put together. Why? Huge population state with muliple cities over 50,000.

Your defense is horrible. You have one reasonably impressive win all year.

I have no idea what our offense will do, nobody does, but I will guarantee this - our defense will be much better than last year's game and will not give up nearly as many points.

That would imply that UW doesn't score at all. I don't think tOSU puts up more than 14-17 pts at Camp Randall against this defense. Nope.
