sleeperI wonder what the players were thinking when Krenzel was telling them the play in the huddle.
-
WebFireI think I literally puked in my mouth when that play happened.

Wasn't it an audible by Krenzel? -

It could have been? I don't know.bases_loaded;1316589 wrote:Wasn't it an audible by Krenzel? -
vball10setFrom what I recall, it was more of a broken play than an audible. Wasn't he supposed to go to the tight end on the play, but he was covered so Krenzel let it fly to Jenkins? I thought this is what I read, but I could be wrong.

Midstate01What I remember is I was 18, and my buddy and I were both standing on my parents couch. We scored and we started jumping and I actually scratched the top of my head on the ceiling.
Seems like we were nervous a few times that season.... -

I remember thinking we were going to lose to Cincinnati, Clarett turned the ball over a hundred times against Northwestern, Wisconsin was really close, we needed a defensive score from Gamble against Penn State and Gamble also had to chase someone down after a turnover by Krenzel, Holy Buckeye against Purdue, we needed OT to beat Illinois, Will Allen had a game clinching int against UM and then double overtime to beat the unbeatable Miami Hurricanes for the title.Midstate01;1316609 wrote:Seems like we were nervous a few times that season....
It was an amazing season. -
TiernanAnd the Dbl OT win vs Miami is to this day still the greatest college football game ever played.

While it's definitely up there, it's hard to put that above USC vs Texas in '06.Tiernan;1316685 wrote:And the Dbl OT win vs Miami is to this day still the greatest college football game ever played. -
TiernanHell the OSU #1 vs scUM #2 game was better than that dog of game Chief.

Here's a good article from SI with Krenzel describing the play. It wad just a sight adjustment from both Krenzel and Jenkins. Both of them read the inside technique of the corner, get on the same page at the snap, and the rest is history.
The other scoring play in that game that a lot of people forget about is Nugent kicking a FG with less than one second on the clock to end the first half. -
FatHobbitI'd also vote for the OSU/Miami game over USC/Texas but I do understand that I'm biased.

I actually thought the Texas Michigan rose bowl the year before was more exciting then the title game with USC Texas. The 4th quarter was great in that game, but that was about it. -
End of Line
You are correct. Hartsock was covered on a out route and Krenzel just threw it up. I was going crazy at the end of it. Don't forget Gamble making another interception to seal the deal as well.vball10set;1316600 wrote:From what I recall, it was more of a broken play than an audible.
