Indiana

If they win out, I think they go to the conference championship game. Lulz.

It seems unlikely they'll beat Michigan and Wisconsin.

I for one am glad they are doing better and better. That win yesterday should have sealed Ferentz fate but somehow he keeps on coaching in Iowa City.

I believe Iowa gave him a big contract at some point and they just can't afford to pay him and someone else.

Going into yesterday, they controlled their own Rose Bowl fate lol. Even if they go 2-1 from here, they have a very good shot assuming 1 of the 2 wins is versus Wisconsin. So funny.

Imagine the home field advantage of IU playing in Indy for the Big Ten Championship....

    Youd think so...lol

Depending on who came from the other side, Id assume they would have more fans there.

    Why's that?

I actually think it is important for the big ten that Indiana wins the leaders division. If they do, they add to the resume/depth of the league as a whole going forward. Indiana has been so bad, but this would be a great recruiting tool for them and give them some momentum. Indiana is the team in the conference with the poorest resume historically, so this would give them some tangible success. Making the worst team better can only be good. And I don't see it happening under any other normal type of circumstances.

I am not sure if winning the division because the best teams are ineligible and everyone else sucks adds to the depth of the conference. It would be an entirely different story if they had a great year and went 7-1 in the Big Ten. I just don't think winning the division at 4-4 has the same impact.

It looks AWFUL for the bigten if IU wins the division. They lost what 5 straight at one point. And 2 of those to ball state and navy.

In all honesty, with the way the B1G is this year, it'd be a bit of poetic justice

I really wonder what IU would have done with Roberson at QB all year instead of the 2nd stringer. Tre got hurt in the second game of the year. He started all season last year.

Id think they win the MSU, Navy and BSU game. Ohio State I dont think wouldve made a bit of difference. Northwestern wouldve been much closer, I think, though still a loss.

I guess I'm thinking more down the line. I'm not sure if there's any other way for Indiana to climb out of the hole they are in, being so bad for so long. This seems like the best opportunity for the worst team in the big ten to get better, which would be better for the league going forward

I disagree. I mean, sure, it would be great if they somehow figured out a way to get to the Rose Bowl. But they are probably going to get absolutely embarrassed by anyone they might meet up with in that game. So is it really going to help them get better to get destroyed on national TV in the Granddaddy of Them All?

The point of the thread was not that they are going to win any of their remaining games, just that they control their own Rose Bowl destiny in November, when was the last time that happened?

Imaging the homefield advantage IU would have playing in Bloomington in a night game against OSU? Seriously though the fact schools can't play in a conference title is stupid
