SportsAndLadyI'll be in South Bend this weekend..first time
Probably won't go to the game unless we find tix for dirt cheap, which probably won't happen.
Just gonna sit at a bar and watch, any suggestions? -
sherm03I'll be at this game. Hope it's not as close as the last one I was at. My heart can't take that again.

If you wait till right after kick off you should find tickets pretty cheap. I don't know if any bats because everytime I've been in south bend I was actually at the game so can't really help ya there -

eh I've never gone to any bars, usually just tailgate and then head to the game. Try Legend's, which is about 100 yards south of the stadium. Will most likely be packed unless you get there really early. Other than that, the Linebacker is a pretty well known bar right off campus, just not sure how nice it is. Another one close to the Backer is Mulligan's. There is also a Brother's further south but not too far from the stadium -

haha I've been to Purdue, Michigan, and BYU. Not one of those games was comfortable at any point. They are more fun, especially this year with how the crowd has stayed into the games, but you're right about not being able to take too many more of them. I almost bought tickets from ND this morning but just couldn't do it. Will have to settle for the Wake Forest game. -

Well there it is. You're just not allowed to go any more because if you're there...the game is too close. Sorry dude, maybe next year. I'll take your Wake Forest tickets off your hands, though.karen lotz;1309577 wrote:haha I've been to Purdue, Michigan, and BYU. Not one of those games was comfortable at any point. vball10setDo they still have the lot behind the Morris Inn set up like a huge hospitality area? I was there back in '07 and they had a pretty sweet set-up back there, with numerous portable bars, food stands, etc., as well as TV's to watch the game.

Just to get a reference point, what would be considered 'cheap'?Crimson streak;1309566 wrote:If you wait till right after kick off you should find tickets pretty cheap. I don't know if any bats because everytime I've been in south bend I was actually at the game so can't really help ya there -

Yep...that is still there. Beers are expensive there, and the food is a little pricey. But when I was up there for the BYU game, my wife and I grabbed a few beers and had some really good Chicago style hotdogs while we watched some of the 12:00 games.vball10set;1309712 wrote:Do they still have the lot behind the Morris Inn set up like a huge hospitality area? I usually prefer getting food from the stands that the students set up, but we were starving and didn't feel like waiting in those lines. -

I dk about this year but years past you could get them around 20-30 a piece. You can easily talk people down too. They will take 20-30 over nothing -
Classyposter58Oregon is much better than Notre Dame. Hope this helps

You're usually wrong about everything you say about sports, so I'll take this as a good and helpful sign. Thanks for your input. -

TiernanA number of ND students dressed in Pitt gear and posing as Pitt students on the Pitt campus instigated a fight with 3 Pitt players on the street resulting in the 3 Pitt players being charged with assault and suspended for Saturdays game. According to eye witnesses the number of ND poseurs was between 20 - 30 that got their asses kicked by the 3 Pitt players before police arrived. Of course no charges were filed against the ND students because they are protected everywhere.

Also, none of the Pitt players are suspended and will be playing against Notre Dame tomorrow. -
vball10setThe true story...
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8582580/pittsburgh-panthers-ray-graham-devin-street-lafayette-pitts-charged-assault
PITTSBURGH -- Three Pittsburgh football players have been charged with simple assault and conspiracy in connection with an incident last month involving three other students, one of whom reported he was hit in the head during a brief confrontation on the street. Online court records don't list attorneys for the players charged in the complaint filed by city police on Thursday: running back Ray Graham, receiver Devin Street and defensive back Lafayette Pitts. The players were not arrested but have been mailed summonses to appear in Pittsburgh Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing on the charges Jan. 9. Pitt released a statement Friday indicating the players are not suspended and are eligible to play Saturday against Notre Dame (No. 3 BCS, No. 4 AP). "Those individuals have denied any involvement with the situation and have offered to speak with authorities, although to date they have not been questioned or received any court documents," read the statement from Pitt's athletic department. "We take matters of player discipline very seriously and will continue to cooperate with any investigation. However, we will not, and hope others will not, rush to judgment on these misdemeanor allegations. "All three players will remain active members of our program while we gain more clarity on this situation." Graham, of Elizabeth, N.J., is the Panthers' leading rusher with 622 yards and seven touchdowns. Street, of Bethlehem, is the team's leading receiver with 50 catches for 695 yards and four scores. Pitts, of East Pittsburgh, is also the team's top kick-returner. -
sjmvsfscs08In Brian Kelly's two season at Notre Dame, the Irish are 6-1 (86%) in the month of November.
In the two seasons before he was hired, they were 1-8 (11%).
I'm guessing that number is 10-1 or 9-2 at the end of this season. -
gerb131I think this will be close. Sunseri is no slouch.
