reclegend22First noon CBS game of the season today. Baylor at Kentucky. So glad the season is about to be in full swing. There will be a little lag before Christmas with basically cupcake games, but conference season will be here before you know it.
I remember a few years ago (2005-06), Duke played like two ACC games prior to Christmas (one being the famous Sean Dockery half-court shot to beat Va Tech; about every single neighbor in my vicinity at the apartment I was living at at the time called or knocked on my door after my celebration was through, haha), but that is a an absolute rarity and has never happened again. -
Azubuike24Interesting game. Both teams have taken some early lumps. Baylor getting 8 points. I'm curious about that line given that they DO have an experienced backcourt with Jackson and Heslip, despite being a brand new team (like UK) everywhere else...
-
reclegend22Another intriguing aspect to the game is Baylor potentially posing a threat to UK's win streak in Rupp under Cal. The Cats have never lost under Cal there. I'm not sure on the exact number of consecutive wins (nee help there, Az), but I believe UK has won at least 60 straight in Lexington. I imagine that streak will be in jeopardy later this season against Florida as well, but Baylor might present the biggest.
What's interesting is that, if UK is able to prolong it through the end of the season, I don't see them dropping any thing at home next year. That steak could get to 80, 90 in a hurry and then you are talking history. -

This is what I was going to say. It's amazing to watch some of these guys break out under Boeheim after showing little very early on.killer_ewok;1333827 wrote:MCW is nice. Thought he should have got more burn last year.
Fab Melo was the same way. Same with Dion Waiters. -

I don't have the game? -

I was wrong. It's at 12:30. So it should show up on your local CBS channel in about three minutes.wildcats20;1334019 wrote:I don't have the game? -

Yeah I just saw it was 1230 -
reclegend22Kentucky win streak at home at 54. So far, it looks like that might stand, as UK is hitting some early shots and Baylor is playing like they are in a shirts and skins game, as usual.
-
MulvaKentucky basically looks lost.

reclegend22Baylor definitely turned things around quick after a good UK start from the field, finishing the first half on a 25 to 12 run, capped by a Brady Heslip bomb at the buzzer. He's so good.
54 in peril. That's a remarkable streak on the line today. -
MulvaIllinois State is up 25-14 on Louisville.

Have been watching this game in bits and pieces. Louisville is playing pretty disappointingly so far this season based on expectations, even with their center out. There is truth, I think, to the rumblings from Cardinals' fans that Pitino has lost his edge. Even just listening to him talk about his team, you get that feeling. He seems to be content, rather than fanatically driven as he was at Kentucky or early in his Louisville tenure. Almost as if anything good that happens from this point forward, such as last year's Final Four run, is just icing on top.Mulva;1334053 wrote:Illinois State is up 25-14 on Louisville. -
Midstate01When uk made that little 4-0 run, anyone else see the fan behind the Baylor bench area going full retard?? It was hilarious.

SportsAndLadyOh man what a dirty step back

sportswizuhrdNot sure how old many of you(I'm 30) are or how long you have been watching college basketball but are any of you familiar with Shawnta Rogers from GWU? Was an Honorable Mention AA back in 99 and also A-10 POY. Played for Mike Jarvis and Tom Penders. Probably best known for being 5 foot 4(I followed him a lot at the time because I too was short and was playing HS bball).
Anyways...He has a son playing for Delaware (playing against Duke today). Nothing in my life has made me feel older than hearing about this last week when Delaware was playing Pitt in the NIT. LOL. -
GOONx19Just got home from work. C'mon Cats.

Azubuike24Kentucky can't go far with Goodwin at PG. He might become a great PG...in 5 years. They need Harrow to continue to show what he did a few times today or else it's big time trouble.
