Because losing by 14 would help the Big 10  Seriously it's gonna come down to Wisconsin and either Nebraska, MSU or UM and all of whom will probably lose against USC or Oregon by 28+

No, but is IS idiotic to make this statement, 'cause they're not eligible to play in the Rose Bowl :p

RT @darkknight1093 Funny #Michigan gave up 40+ pts nine times and 35+ pts 18 times during the Rich Rod era. That's three years!

    Sooo it's not so bad

The term "SMH" needs to go.....like 6 months ago.
Have you actually watched USC play and not just listened to what the media says? USC is not very good, no way they beat OSU by 2 TDs, now Oregon that's a different story probably even worse than that but they won't be in the Rose Bowl, they'll be getting their ass kicked by Alabama in the NC game.
  • Midstate01
Just remember osu beat Oregon with a team that didn't let their QB throw. Now they'd try to out score them. Our shifty offense beat Oregon....

I'm not saying wed beat them. But they'd have to stop us too.

Right. So you don't want to keep letting teams put up 50 points against you.
  • Midstate01
They're 7-0.... Thus winning despite the d. Something michigan didn't do.

I know it's hard for you to understand. A few too many dips in dirty lake Logan as a kid.

Keep doing it, and see if they stay undefeated.

I really didn't think that would be hard for even you to understand. And no, we had a pool. ;)

We know they're having problems on D, and we know that UM will get it fixed. Mater, since you seem so to have such a strong opinion on this subject, how 'bout an avatar bet come 11/24?

He will get it fixed, I have no doubts. The question is when? Where and when did the talent deficiency happen? I think it was no secret the backfield was going to be a weakness this year. But did you fans think the defense would be this bad? Was recruiting lacking leading up to this. Just seems like it came out of nowhere to me, but I obviously don't pay as much attention as you do.

Seeing as how Curtis grant was the #1 linebacker a few years ago I don't think it was recruiting. I think a lot of guys just didn't pan out

Yea, the 2009 & 2010 recruiting classes killed us. Dorian Bell, Jordan Whiting, and Jonathan Newsome couldn't keep their heads on straight. Klein is just bad. Hagan and McVey had injuries they couldn't overcome.

I never thought we would give up 49 points to Indiana when they were playing their 2nd and 3rd team qbs.

Also, I know a lot of people like to blame Fickell, but watching the game, it's easy to see the young players are just having mental lapses. Shazier took a terrible angle on the play in the 4th where the guy caught it around the 10 yard line, then reversed field for the touchdown. Spence made a couple bad plays. On the reverse he didn't set the edge, and they got a big play. The second was when he was supposed to drop into coverage, but the QB rolled out and Spence left his assignment to go after the QB, and they got an easy completion. These lapses are on the players. The only thing I would like to see more of are blitzes, but that's hard to do when you can't rely on your players to tackle in space.

from the stands on Sat night it looked like Partly Cloudy Klein tore his Cumulo-Nimbus muscle getting out-performed by a FB converted to LB. Of course the stud Boren outperformed ALL the other LBs too!

We're not a good football team, I don't know how anyone can look at this team and say otherwise.

Now, when I say good team, I mean a team that is successful in all 3 facets. We're good in 2 of them. That being said, I only see a few teams this year that I would say qualify under that definition of good.

What would happen if we played a defense that was fast enough and disciplined enough to somewhat neutralize Miller's running for an entire game? We would lose.
