Hate to see them cut out the in-state rivalries, though. Hopefully the program will continue to open against the in-state MAC teams, while getting rid of Buffalo, Northern, Y-State, etc - I'd like to see the shared revenue stay in state.
I'd also love to see an annual home-and-way against Cincinnati. -

No Gene. You don't understand!"We're changing our philosophy because we're obviously going to move into a playoff structure that I don't think all of us really understand yet,"
Seriously... how does this bumbling idiot still have a job?! -

"We're changing our philosophy because we're obviously going to move into a playoff structure that I don't think all of us really understand yet, how the committee's going to work," -

And that is an extremely legitimate concern Smith has. -

Kind of stating the obvious. The committee will obviously look at strength of schedule -

Yes, but the process of how they pick the teams is very undefined. At least to me, maybe someone else understands it better. It would however appear that Gene Smith and I are in the same boat here.Crimson streak;1281655 wrote:Kind of stating the obvious. The committee will obviously look at strength of schedule -

Yeah I agree but it is an almost guarantee they will take strength of schedule into consideration. -

But how much of a consideration? Will margin of victory be more important? How about road wins? Conference wins?
I think you are missing the point that most ADs get the sense of some of the things will be looked at, but they have no idea how they will be weighted. We can sit here and guess all we want, but in the end we really dont know. -

Oh I agree I'm just saying that SOS will be taken into account. I kind of look at it like the basketball committee. SOS, margin of victory, teams you beat, teams you lost to etc -
SonofanumpI have always thought the the computer shoudl throw out your worst two wins on the year to allow for a cupcake or two on the schedule. I agree with above that they should keep the MAC to in state schools, rotate between the 6 of them. Maybe a 2 for one with UC & Pitt over the six years.
