Michigan/Notre Dame series done

What I'm not off base about is Soreprick saw a chance to unload a 60/40% loss game for another one of those 25/75% win games he is so good at scheduling. What's amazing is how ND continues to get away with this shit and the brokers of CFB seem powerless to stop them fromm doing whatever the fuck they want. Its actually kinda impressive.

I'd love to see Stanford schedule OSU in the future. I love a good ole' battle between 2 academic powerhouses outside of the overrated Ivy league schools. That would be an excellent rivalry.

Looks like not every ND person thinks Tiernan is wrong. This is an ND writer:
"Just looking at it, I think they knew the Midwest was going to be a sacrifice," Somogyi said. "Purdue and Michigan State both have longer rivalries than with Michigan, but - and I don't know if they'll come out and say this - in 2015 and '16 you've already got Texas and USC, and who knows how good Stanford and others will be? To have Michigan, Texas and USC at the same time, that might be a lot, especially when with the ACC you could also be adding Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech in those given years.

I just don't know how people can come to that conclusion. If ND wanted to lighten up the schedule, why wouldn't they drop the B1G school that has a better record against them in the recent past? Why wouldn't they drop the B1G school that has finished better in the conference rankings every year except one since 2007?

I like Michigan. I respect the program. And I'm sad that there will be a break for the foreseeable future with them. But to say that Notre Dame is lightening up the schedule by dropping Michigan and keeping Michigan State just does not make sense to me at all. I don't think it has anything to do with records or who is a tougher team, and everything to do with the clause in the Michigan contract that requires the game is automatically renewed every time it is played.

But you guys can think what you want, I guess.

Didn't read my response, did ya? Any response to that?

I don't see how it's going to lighten the schedule because you already know that first year in the ACC there going to play Florida st. cause of the rivalry. So essentially there dropping Michigan and adding Florida st, Clemson or va tech. I'd rather play Michigan honestly

I love how butthurt Ohio State fans are about this. You've got an AD coming out and saying that Ohio State will stop scheduling so many MAC schools because of the SOS being taken into account, basically admitting that Ohio State intentionally plays a shitty schedule--too shitty for the future--and you're complaining about a school that you want to play USC/Stanford/Michigan and a mix of Virginia Tech/Miami/Florida State/Clemson?

I'm sorry Notre Dame has things to do other than play B1G teams?

And let's remember that they haven't come out and guaranteed Purdue and Michigan State will remain either. With those two teams they'd only have two free slots. That probably is too few, you need at least three.

Hey Gene get on the phone today and schedule Home & Aways with Duke, Wake Forest, Maryland, UNC and VA before Soreprick does. Ulp...too late huh?

I don't know....that writer is saying that the schedule will be ridiculously tough in at least a couple of the years coming up while Tiernan is saying that Swarbrick is scheduling games that they have a 75% chance of winning (would love to see how he came up with those percentages BTW). Tiernan also tried to pass Stanford off as Duke.

Somebody was gonna be pissed about this no matter what. End the series with UM early and some ND, UM fans are unhappy. If they woulda cut MSU out...some Sparty fans would be bitching. As I've said, I am not happy they are ending the series with UM early but there was very little chance that everyone was gonna be happy with whatever choice ND was going to make.

Realignment has a lot to do with the loss of great rivalries. Even ND, being an Independent in football, was affected by it....so much so that they felt the need to get in bed with the ACC....even if they are going to be up and gone before the ACC wakes up the next morning.

You realize Ohio State plays in the Big Ten right? Let's not make fun of other conferences.

You never learn do you? Ohio State has won 6 BCS bowls, a National title, and multiple B1G championships since 1998. Before you cast stones, remember that Notre Dame has lost 3 BCS bowls, has the record for most consecutive bowl losses, has never won a conference championship, and their best win is a "close" loss to USC which netted a overhyped and shitty coach(sort of like BK) a 10 year contract.

Pretty laughable you would even try to compare the two schools because at this point its like comparing a Pee-Wee bottom feeder to a Super Bowl champion. NOTRE DAME HASN'T WON SHIT AND UNTIL THEY DO, KEEP IT OUT YOUR MOUTH.

Not mad. Just stating facts. Here's the next fact: Ohio State would pummel Notre Dame in a 100 year series, winning all 100 games by an average score of at least 24.33(which is the average point loss to teams that are actually good, rather than cupcakes).

Yet notre dame plays one of the toughest schedules every year. And notre dame isn't going to play Virginia, duke, Maryland every year they will more than likely play Florida st one year then Virginia tech the next and Clemson the following more than likely. All while still playing mich st, USC and Stanford and then another big time program like Oklahoma, Texas, etc. you can bash notre dame on their recent performances but to bash them on the schedule is just idiotic.
