ts1227My guess is OSU's ranking isn't necessarily based on how anything went yesterday, and more of a "it doesn't really matter where I put them because it's meaningless" sort of reaction from AP voters. So, they basically just slide them into a range around where they want the eligible schools.

They struggled to beat a very below average Cal team. Lucky to only drop 4.
But yeah it doesn't matter. -

Also, ND jumps 9 spots in a game where they only score on hail marys? OSU wins and they drop 4 spots?
Coaches poll is a joke if its gonna look like this.

Come the end of the year that would wash itself out, but in week 3 they may give it a little bit of a "fuck it, good enough for now" sort of treatment.ccrunner609;1272710 wrote:but thats not the way its supposed to be. What does the AP do if OSU is the only undefeated team left at the end of the year? Rank them 20th cause they cant play a meaningless bowl game? THey can still give them the AP title. -

I was referring to your comment about hail marys and Notre Dame in general. Your butthurt is showing. -
ts1227
You put a light jab at ND and a comment about OSU getting fucked together, yet the two have nothing to do with one another. Don't act like you weren't looking for a response.ccrunner609;1272719 wrote:Do you have anything to offer? Pick6Notre Dame didnt deserve to jump 9 spots IMO.

Midstate01Nd shouldn't have moved up 9
USC dropping 11 is terrible
South Carolina in the top 10 is laughable
If an sec team loses I bet they drop 4 max. If Bama was to lose to someone they'd drop maybe 3, maybe! -
sleeper
They'll be out of the polls at season's end, like every year.Pick6;1272737 wrote:Notre Dame didnt deserve to jump 9 spots IMO. -

I could live with Bama not dropping a ton if a ranked team slid by them, but I agree SC went down pretty far for losing to a ranked team, agree on the rest of your stuff too.Midstate01;1272761 wrote:Nd shouldn't have moved up 9

vball10setThe faster they rise, the quicker teams fall when they get beat.....The Coaches poll reflects my opinion of where teams should be ranked moreso than the AP (and if OSU were to be ranked on the CP, I'd have them no higher than 15)

cats gone wildUSC deserved to drop that far.

Agreed. The Buckeyes are playing well enough to win but not much more. Considering the fact the the B1G as a whole is stinking up the Top 25 right now, their current position in the AP poll is probably about right at the moment.vball10set;1272768 wrote:The faster they rise, the quicker teams fall when they get beat.....The Coaches poll reflects my opinion of where teams should be ranked moreso than the AP (and if OSU were to be ranked on the CP, I'd have them no higher than 15)
Since the Buckeyes aren't bowl eligible this year, I don't know why OSU fans are getting their undies in a bunch about this anyway.
I'm simply hoping Urban & Co. have a great season and at the end of the year we can have some yucks about the "what if's" and watch the media meltdown ensue.
Plus another bowl season without Buckeye fan base participation (IE: $$$) is going to sting a little for the BCS and the NCAA. -

So Arkansas should have gone from 8 to 12 to 16 instead of from 8 to out of the poll? LOL  -

As they should. Lsu looked awful. Oregon blew out a top 25 team. -

I'd have been ok with them moving down a couple spots. They haven't earned anything.
