9/8: Purdue (1-0) at Notre Dame (1-0) 3:30

killer_ewokI didn't want to start this thread as ND typically loses when I post the game thread but since no one else did I figured what the hell.
Caleb TerBush returns from a 1 game suspension and will likely start at QB for the Boilermakers. Will be interesting to see how ND's secondary holds up against a team that can and will throw the ball. The Irish running game was overpowering against Navy last week. I think we'll see the Fighting Irish attempt to impose their will via the ground game although I think Golson will be given a few more opportunities to air it out at home.
Cierre Wood will serve his final game of a 2 game suspension and will not be available. Theo Riddick and GAIII looked more than capable in his absence last week. Thoughts, predictions, etc?
GO IRISH -
ernest_t_bassNotre Dame will have the most negligent kills in this match-up.
I kid. Notre Dame by 2 scores. -
vball10setHaven't looked at the line, but I'll go with ND by 17.
-
WebFireND should win rather easily.
-
TiernanBoilermakers give the Potato Eaters fits for 3 Qtrs but end up losing by < 10.

karen lotzAmir Carlisle will be available this week, giving ND another RB/slot option. No other injury concerns coming out of the Navy game which is always a good thing with their blocking technique.
Rees and Calabrese will be back also. Kelly said today Rees will get a good amount of reps with the 2's and will battle with Hendrix for QB2. -
Laley23Being at home gives ND an extra TD. At Purdue I think the Boilers air attack would keep them it in till very late. On the road, I think Purdue might struggle a bit offensively and ND take it by 13-17.

I was confused by your post... at first I thought you were saying this game was going to have a final score of 17-13 Notre Dame victory which just seemed ridiculously low. But It could also mean you think Notre Dame wins by anywhere from 13 to 17 point. It's just ambiguous what you actually mean. I'm assuming it has to be the latter.Laley23;1261249 wrote:Being at home gives ND an extra TD. At Purdue I think the Boilers air attack would keep them it in till very late. Crimson streakThis should be a good gauge on how our secondary will be this year. Our safeties need to play better than they did against navy. On a side note its great to see st iggy beat the shit out of Shane Morris last weekend

karen lotzI barely remember Slaughter's name being called on Saturday. I guess that's good because he wasn't needing to make a lot of tackles, but I'd guess he will have more of an impact this week.

That's because like many in the ND fan base you've developed a losers attitude over the years. Too many disasters in the past make it tough to be positive going into a "trap" game. I would imagine many of the Sr. ND players & coaching staff have the same trepidations which the younger players will pick up on and the cycle continues. Its really a shame.sjmvsfscs08;1261637 wrote:This game worries me a lot. I'll be in the stadium, for better or worse. -

Lol. Cher is dlazz. I love how, on a ND thread, no one is allowed to pick against them. -

People can pick against ND. Hell, I probably will a few times this season myself. I think that reply to Cher has to do with his/her posting history rather than the prediction. -
ernest_t_bassND will win, but ND fans make me want to say Purdue by 50+.

Yeah, I can see how you would feel that way after reading all of the obnoxious posts by ND fans on this thread.... -
killer_ewokTerBush went 10/15 for 101 yards 1 TD 1 INT against ND last year. The corners had a lot more experience then and TerBush is a year wiser now. Definitely concerned about that matchup.

I feel like we have a better pass rush this year though. I'm worried but not too worried. I don't think purdue can stop nd's running game -

Or it could be that Notre Dame is playing a RS-Freshman at QB and the CB's are as green as can be?Tiernan;1261725 wrote:That's because like many in the ND fan base you've developed a losers attitude over the years. It might have something to do with Purdue's first-round 2013 DT, and the other first-team CB who can shut down one of Notre Dame's young WR's.
It could be that Purdue won a bowl game, beat a ranked team last year, and even beat THEEEEEEEE Ohio State Buckeyes last year. Remember that?

Why do you have to be such an asshole all of the time? -

I don't know if year "wiser" would be how I'd describe TerBush, considering he was suspended for the first game of the year. I'd be interested to see what happens if he struggles, considering how well Marve did in their opener.killer_ewok;1261793 wrote:TerBush went 10/15 for 101 yards 1 TD 1 INT against ND last year. LOL. Good point. I should've said,"A year more experienced on the field." And yes, Marve played very well in their opener. It was against an FCS team, but a good performance nevertheless.
