I would have taken him in a second. Ohio State is going after top national guys at LB in 2014, so i'm not sure if there was mutual interest or even any interest from both POV. -

Likely 4* in OH isn't something OSU should not be interested in.OneBuckeye;1244048 wrote:Yup.

killer_ewokOSU offered him. That's why I was fairly surprised.

Yeah, but you never know if it's a commitable one or not.killer_ewok;1244053 wrote:OSU offered him. That's why I was fairly surprised. -

Those are OSU's top targets. The top 3 they are going after pretty hard. Never really heard much news from the Fearn's camp. He may have never even considered OSU. I still hate it when tSUN gets an Ohio recruit. -
Pick6From what I know, ferns was a die hard OSU fan. Maybe the offer wasn't commitable, whatever what means. He has offers from all over the country though. Very smart kid, so academics will be a factor in his final decision. It's still early so It could change. His top 3 were Michigan, notre Dame, and penn state. Obviously not penn state now. I'd rather see him go anywhere besides um and notre dame

ksig489I love how every time an Ohio kid commits to Michigan people get on here and say "OSU wasn't interested in him anyway". That is such a joke.

Lol I completely agree. I hate Ohio state and Michigan but its funny reading everytime an Ohio kid commits to Michigan. -

Who on here said that? You have it in quotation marks, so please copy the post where this is said.ksig489;1244551 wrote:I love how every time an Ohio kid commits to Michigan people get on here and say "OSU wasn't interested in him anyway". That is such a joke. -
dat dudeFerns was never coming to OSU. After his visit, he was quoted as saying he doesn't want to live in a "big city" like Columbus. Wanted more of a college town feel. I doubt OSU had much contact with him after his visit, as he made it apparent he would not be going to Columbus.
And as already stated, OSU is after some bigger fish at the LB position in 2014. Wouldn't be surprised if they get the three mentioned by OB. -

So those bigger fish are all going to be 5* and all commit to OSU? Interesting.dat dude;1245455 wrote:Ferns was never coming to OSU. Not this time specifically, but it has been said in past threads quite often.vball10set;1245443 wrote:Who on here said that? You have it in quotation marks, so please copy the post where this is said.
I'm sorry that you take internet threads so technically that you have to have people give you 100% perfect quotes and complete proof of every word said on every thread.
What I was talking about happens a lot...feel free to go back and look, I'm not going to hold your hand through it. It may be beyond your abilities anyway as you appear to be part of the crowd that can't even spell a 4 letter word without help. (And since you will want an explanation for that..."O-H" and someone else has to finish the spelling for you "I-O".)
Speaking of which...I love how OSU fans get mad when Hoke calls them "Ohio"...but the cheer that they spell out clearly matches what Brady calls them.
Idiots. -

I'm not comparing the two coaches at all, but alot of the Meyer talk is exactly what was said about RichRod. An exciting, high scoring offense.. A recruiting philosophy that would be national, rather than focusing on the state. That really, really burnt RichRod. Not saying Meyer is Rod and vise versa, but it all sounds familiar.WebFire;1245556 wrote:So those bigger fish are all going to be 5* and all commit to OSU? Interesting. -

I hear what you are saying, but there are much bigger differences between the 2. UM will have success at Ohio State.Trueblue23;1245658 wrote:I'm not comparing the two coaches at all, but alot of the Meyer talk is exactly what was said about RichRod. I agree. The differences start on defense. Urban is still a defense first guy, where Richrod had the 3-3-5... I was never impressed by RR's coaching staff's either, something you usually wouldn't say about scUM.WebFire;1245718 wrote:I hear what you are saying, but there are much bigger differences between the 2. The defense, the staff, the support of the school in general. Like RRod or not, he did not have the support from the school or the fans to be successful there.OneBuckeye;1245739 wrote:I agree. In from Ferns' area, and to be honest everybody was suprised when these offers started pouring in. The interest in him is based off of his potential with the size and speed he possesses. If you watch his highlight films, they aren't going to blow your mind. Also, St. C doesn't really play tough competition. The only team regularly worth a crap in the buckeye 8 is ferry (besides st c), and their ooc is usually compromised of average or slightly above average d5 or d6 teams.WebFire;1245556 wrote:So those bigger fish are all going to be 5* and all commit to OSU? With that said, I don't know that they mean bigger fish by meaning 5* recruits, but maybe bigger fish by more of a player you know has some skill instead of potential.
