Ohio State Football to be Subject of ESPN Reality Show

  • Benny The Jet
I read about it yesterday, and I'm a little torn. On one hand, I love OSU and of course will watch. I think it's a good recruiting tool as well, hopefully shows how Urban runs his practices and interacts with the guys. On the other hand, ESPN being the ones broadcasting it scares me. Who knows what kind of light they'll try to show them in.

On a side note, read today on Twitter that one of the ESPN 30 for 30's next season will be focused on Maurice Clarett.

Why are we letting ESPN within 50 miles of Columbus?

    Um? Exposure?

We brought all the past problems on ourselves.

That maybe but I don't trust them. They'll be looking to sniff at anything to nail the Buckeyes.

This one has me puzzled. It's no secret that ESPN has a hard-** for the Big Ten because of the Big Ten Network's success. I really think the Buckeyes would like to have said "No, thanks" but this is an opportunity for them to show compliance with all things NCAA and get some positive press.

They may hate the Buckeyes but they loooove Urbie. Who by the way just in case anybody hasn't noticed ...hasn't won a single game in Cols yet.

And this, folks, is how to state the obvious!

I figured they would come up with a better name for this show than this.

Saw some players tweeting about the cameras following them everywhere, even to take finals.

No problem with it. Hopefully the Buck's have learned their lesson and are now following the rules.

    Let ESPN look around.

That's cool. Get to find out who's going to class or not.

Are they following student athletes into the buildings or just when outside around campus?

I doubt anyone from ESPN is actually going to be in Columbus except maybe a guy who will conduct interviews. It will probably be a more documentary feel, which means a bunch of footage on cameras spliced into a 45 minute show (Hard Knocks comes to mind, on HBO).

If you actually think the Cameramen give 2 fucks about digging anything up, your wrong. Hell, a good portion will pobably be contracted from around Ohio anyway. Probably OSU fans.

Of course, I didnt read the link lol. Maybe Im off base on what the show will be. But I highly doubt they are sending any of their reporters to Columbus.

Haha, I didnt no. But we had/have 4-5 guys that have/are routinely getting work when ESPN comes to town (BG/UT Football and Basketball and then the Womens NCAA game at BG with...um...that "chick" Griner lol), etc. Not sure if they will get contacted for C-Bus, but Im sure some guys down there that work for BTN when they are in for OSU games and FSO for the Jackets games etc will get some calls.

Ive been primarily Graphics for over a year now, so not many calls come in. They like to use their own Graphics and Replay guys in the truck. Plus, this will be only Cameras with editing back in Bristol, Id imagine.

I'd rather watch this than countless hours of analysts talking about the upcoming season.

Love the show. Kerry Coombs is one crazy SOB

I've watched the last four days, and I loved it--is it over (with only repeats to come), or are there more new segments? btw, Simon's got some big fucking pythons!!!
  • Tiernan
Grant, Shazier and Sabino at LB getting alot of kudos from Urbie. Nobody missing "Partly Cloudy" Klein at all.

He does, but he's been largely one of the "All-uniform" guys to date. Physical animal, needs to start making a lot more plays.

2011-- 53 tackles (31 solo), 16 tackles for loss (led team), 7 sacks (led team)--sounds like he's more than just an "All-uniform" guy to me....that being said, I agree that he needs to make more plays (don't you always?), and he will.
