I heard on the radio that they weren't allowed to be.ernest_t_bass;1239209 wrote:Is Ohio state allowed to be in the polls with their ban? -

Correct and neither will Penn State. The Big 10 representation in this year's Top 25 polls will be minimal without Ohio State and Penn State in the mix.Fly4Fun;1239253 wrote:I heard on the radio that they weren't allowed to be. -
vball10setI thought they could be ranked in the AP poll?

I believe this is correct.vball10set;1239296 wrote:I thought they could be ranked in the AP poll? -
ts1227Yeah, that's how it was with USC in 2010-11. Coaches don't rank anyone with a postseason ban, AP ranks everyone.

Cat Food Flambe'Right in the article:
"AFCA policy bars schools under major NCAA or conference sanctions from receiving votes. Schools affected this season are North Carolina, Ohio State and Penn State. Central Florida will remain eligible until the NCAA rules on the school's appeal." -

The AP plays by their own rules. -
ts1227
The same reason that they will rank OSU if they play good enough this year.Scarlet_Buckeye;1241215 wrote:Then how in the **** was U$C ranked last season?!
As wildcats said, AP ranks everyone regardless of punishment. Only the coaches poll does not rank them.
