Will the 2002 National Championship Team be honored for the 10 Year Anniversary?
-
ou1980Wow. This seson will mark 10 years since Ohio States incredible ride to the National Championship by defeating Miami in Double Overtime. I have yet to see any mention of it, but, will the team be honored at halftime for one of the home games this season?
And if so, what an amazing scene it would be to see Jim Tressel back in the Shoe!
Urban Meyer has already described Tress as a friend (look at a recent video interview of Urban on buckeyextra.com) and how important he is to OSU legacy. I would predict Ohio Stadium would welcome Tress back to a thunderous applause....
What say you? -
gerb131I'd hope so.
-
sportchamppsI know there's been talk. Clarett actually sent out a tweet about a month ago complaing that everyone but him and tress had been invited. I think OSU then said they are planning something but haven't invited anyone yet or finalized anything.

sleeperIt better be.
-
vball10setI would think so. I'd be very disappointed if they weren't.

Or how about the ref that allowed the Cane's the opportunity tie the game in regulation?goosebumps;1128262 wrote:Will they invite ref who won them the game?

Al BundyThe should have Nike make some awful uniforms for them to wear some game, and then say that the uniforms are being worn to honor the national champs from 10 years ago.
Hopefully they have a nice celebration for them. That was a special team that always found a way to win. -

TiernanTress should never be allowed in the Shoe again. If I had my way he'd not be allowed in Ohio.

LOL why? He didn't rape kids you fucking moran -
Fly4FunTiernan is obsiouly a loon.
I think it'd be a crime in Tress was not allowed back for the 10 year anniversary of the this Championship. The guy did great things for the university. He made some bad decisions as a result of one of his strengths and biggest weaknesses, his loyalty. Being loyal is a good quality, but at some point you have to know when to let go or say no.
Time will heal all wounds, and I'm guessing most fans are already willing to forgive him. In the grand scheme of things, what he did is not really bad at all. He didn't physically harm ANYONE whether it be sexual or physical. He didn't cover up for those situations either. He was trying to fix a situation in which a few of his players did something completely legal by US law but violated NCAA laws. It wasn't a huge cheating scandal. The media made it out to be a lot worse than it really is.
No reason for any true fan to harbor ill-will towards someone that has done so much for the program and students. -

What? GTFO, Tress has served his punishment by being forced to resign his head coaching position. No reason to ban him all together.Tiernan;1130071 wrote:Tress should never be allowed in the Shoe again. If I had my way he'd not be allowed in Ohio. -

And he still caught the ball too...even though the officials called it incomplete. If either penalty, or the catch, are called correctly on that play, the Buckeyes would have ran out the clock and won the game in regulation. But Miami fans always seem to forget that when they whine about the PI call in OT.BORIStheCrusher;1130009 wrote:Reps. Everybody seems to forget this play. He was also held again on the same play.
