OSU v. Gonzaga (I think it can have its own thread)

I have always said I would take Craft of Burke. Like Crafts defense way to much.robj55;1119636 wrote:Everyone's logic, Scoring>>>>Any other aspect of basketball -
centralbucksfanVery good win for OSU. Gonzaga is a very good team. Bulldogs were far more deserving than a 7 seed IMO. Craft with a great game on BOTH ends of court. He is looking MUCH more aggressive offensively.

Absolutely he can as long as he establishes himself inbounds. No different than the player taking the ball OOB, who throws it off the back of a player, gets in bounds, gets the ball. Seen it happen many times.Terry_Tate;1119628 wrote:The OOB call on Craft was correct. After going out of bounds he can't be the first player to touch the ball.
Big win for Ohio State after fighting through the first half then Gonzaga tying it up. They live to fight another day!
After seeing the reply from the front, should have been OSU ball IMO. -
Tiger2003CBF you caught yourself.

Ha ha, yes I did. Forgot no one else touched the ball.Tiger2003;1119644 wrote:CBF you caught yourself. -

It's all good man. I was going to tell you to go back and ready your post. -
hoops23I've been critical of Crafts game offensively all season because I KNEW he had the ability but played too conservative. This is how he needs to play for the Buckeyes to continue to advance.
Attack, knock down jumpers, and find teammates. He and Thomas saved the Buckeyes from elimination.
Sully needs to hit the weight room in the offseason and add a inch or two to his vertical as well. He dropped the weight, but didn't really add anything in terms of muscle.
I hope he doesn't go pro, because if he works hard in the offseason I think he can regain some of his draft stock. -
NilesPacManI just read on ESPN that this was the first time in school history we've made a SS three straight seasons.

Possession doesn't matter. It was a heck of an effort by Craft though.robj55;1119631 wrote:Yes you can because he never had possession of the ball, if he had possession initially then it would have been the correct call. -

The main issue with Craft is it forces teams to play him honest now. Its not just his scoring, its his penetration that is breaking down defenses, opening the perimeter up more.hoops23;1119649 wrote:I've been critical of Crafts game offensively all season because I KNEW he had the ability but played too conservative. Sully, ya what a poor game. Going against a 7ft player, he only gets 18pts today. That in ONLY 25 min. -
robj55Sully got 18 on 9 shots, I'll take that every day of the week especially in foul trouble.

Tiger2003
That is wrong. Did it in 44,45,46 and 60,61,62.NilesPacMan;1119650 wrote:I just read on ESPN that this was the first time in school history we've made a SS three straight seasons. -

That with only playing about 25 min. The balance OSU had today, they are tough to beat. What I liked was it seemed when someone was struggling, someone else stepped up. They all had spurts in the game when it was needed.robj55;1119653 wrote:Sully got 18 on 9 shots, I'll take that every day of the week especially in foul trouble.
Only concern today, was rebounding. Gave up way too many second shots. Pretty unusual for this team. They have been good on boards all season long. -

Ya, was gonna say. They made finals 3 straight years in 60's run.Tiger2003;1119659 wrote:That is wrong. Did it in 44,45,46 and 60,61,62. -
Tiger2003
Yep. They also made the Final Four 3 straight years. 44-46.centralbucksfan;1119662 wrote:Ya, was gonna say. They made finals 3 straight years in 60's run. -
MulvaThere was no Sweet 16 in the 40s. Only 8 teams made the tournament.

Yeah and lost to the Bearcats twice in a row in the Finals...Those OSU teams were loaded no way they should have lost to UC.centralbucksfan;1119662 wrote:Ya, was gonna say. They made finals 3 straight years in 60's run. -

Oscar was not on the teams that defeated OSU in the finals.lol--yeah, because Oscar Robertson sucked -
LJI think Thomas showed his detractors that he isnt just a product of Sullinger. 10 points in 4 min without Sully on the floor.
