I heard Michigan cooled on him.

Yeah, that's the way I saw it too. I think Michigan led for awhile, but he really seemed to like his first USC trip, then going back with mom sealed it.

Honestly, how could it not. Typical big college town vs. LA.

Hot girls in bikinis, celebrities, night life, free housing and cars. Hard not to like that.

Michigan picks up #19 today, DL Maurice Hurst (6-2, 290) from Mass. Hurst is a 3*, but had a pretty impressive offer list (including OSU, MSU, Nebraska, Purdue and PSU) and many think he is 4* talent.

Poggi to announce Monday between Michigan and Alabama. Michigan has a good shot at this one.
  • WebFire
Poggi becomes the 20th commit for Michigan! :D

From what i've read Hurst tried to get in at OSU but was turned away, just another kid Hoke could sell the OSU hate pitch to.

Poggi on the other hand is a very very nice pick up. I wanted him at OSU badly.

Had an offer but couldn't get in, huh?

supposidly there are offers then there are OFFERS. OFFERS are commitable at anytime offers are contingent on something. Who knows. Difference between Tressel and Urban. I'm sure it has happend at UM over time as well. They offer multiple kids at a position and if they feel they are sitting well with someone they have higher on the board and only have room for 1 guy they tell the guy that is 3rd on their board to wait a little bit. That is what Urban did here.

Maybe they turned him away, maybe they didn't. Bottom line is he is attending the University of Michigan. I don't really care about the rest.

SMH at #21 being long snapper Scott Sypniewski. I made fun of ND for it, and I'll make fun of Michigan for it. I do not like this commitment in this class at all.

I agree. I don't see why they would offer this kid but they might see something no one els does I guess

If the kid is good, there is no concern over long snapping for 4 years. Should all specialists be walk ons??

At least you're consistent. I'll give you that.

LS has never been a concern. Long snapper is a position I just don't think you offer a scholly to. Especially when you still have highly rated prospects on the board and only a few spots left to give. And it's only June. If this were in February and we had one to give away, that would be different.

We gave 2 placekickers and a punter a scholly over the last few years (highly rated ones too), and there are definitely concerns over those.

Apparently CB Channing Stibling earned an offer at camp and will be committing tomorrow.

PSU decommit Ross Douglas (CB) has been re-offered by Michigan and will be visiting Michigan on Sunday.
