Which OSU Assistant is Crean Taking Shots At?

Let's be serious for a second. Roshown McLeod is not the reason Kyrie Irving ended up at Duke. Kyrie Irving's intentions from the beginning were to play for one year at a school that would give him unparalleled exposure, good coaching and a realistic chance of making the NCAA Tournament (that, of course, is an understatement for Duke, but certainly not for Indiana at the time).

As great a player Roshown was at Duke in the late nineties, in the grander scheme of things, he's not that important of an individual. Rumors may have circulated that McLeod's mastermind recruiting plan to lure Irving away from Indiana to Duke worked in Coach K's favor, but I highly doubt it. That sounds like complete nonsense. If I may paraphrase the great Petey Bell, if I assert that you sleep with sheep, then it's alleged that you sleep with sheep.

Crean obviously has a bad taste in his mouth regarding OSU because they have stole a couple recruits from him, but he needs to keep his mouth shut.

As for Jeff Boals, I've never liked him. He's the guy that wants to be the "cool" coach.

Everyone says that. Who the fuck has OSU stolen from Crean? Please, for the love of God dont give me Thomas who committed to OSU before Crean was even there long enough to make a phone call.

Believe what you want, Ill believe what common sense seems to lay out. Kyrie was LOOOOONG rumored to be an Indiana lean (FF to 3:40, a month later he is at Duke and IU wasnt really rumored at all anymore). Then McLeod goes to the in-home with Kyrie and days later he is at Duke. Then, McLeod is taken off recruiting trips to NE. Then, rumors surface about his involvement with the Irvings and a month later he is fired. Crean comes out and says we need guys who will fight for this program. Assistants who can be trusted and wont think of themselves before the program. Thats who we need to replace Roshawn.

I honestly believe it would be naive to assume the OPPOSITE than McLeod steering Kyrie away from IU and towards Duke.

Keep in mind, NEVER did I say he is the reason Kyrie choose Duke as it wasnt a certain he would end up at IU. But McLeod certainly didnt help.

I can't think of anyone. Maybe mad that they've poached so many in recent years?? I think maybe he just doesn't handle losing well. Lol I
Have no idea.

I think he is a sore loser. I LOVE that, but wish he wasnt public about it. He comes off as such a little bitch, and for someone (ie, myself) who is the opposite in adversity I hate it. I love that he hates losing and finishing 2nd in recruiting battles etc. But keep it private.

Also, get better timeout patterns lol.

I am pleased that it looks like he has his pick of who he wants in the state of Indiana for the forseeable future. It was great when he could pick and choose who he wanted in 2013 and went 3/3 while letting Purdue take who he deemed someone he didnt want to go all in with. Granted, Purdue still got some really solid players, but it was nice that it came after Crean stopped recruiting them and had taken the guys he wanted already.

This, I agree totally. But he is who he is, and thats not going to change. He wears his emotions on his sleave, and then opens his mouth as well.

I honestly couldn't watch past Drake singing about lobster. I didn't even want to fast-forward after that point haha. But I did, and I see that he named Indiana as the handful of teams he was carefully considering. So I guess I am wrong about that. As you say, however, I just don't think that McLeod was the reason he decided to choose Duke. I think it's just as plausible to speculate that, deep down, Kyrie wanted to play for Coach K and Duke perhaps just as much as he ever once did for Indiana and that the decision was a hard one. I just have a very hard time believing that Roshown McLeod, a relatively obscure college basketball assistant, could have had that much influence on a stud like Irving, even if McLeod's intentions were to try and grab a spot on the Duke staff or something of that nature.
