Projected Seed for OSU in the Tourney

  • ernest_t_bass
I know it is EXTREMELY early, but just for shits and giggles. Now that the Buckeyes have dropped three, what do you project their seed to be. I don't see them getting higher than a 2-seed at this point, and I think I'd be more than alright with that.

After the draw they got last year...anything but the overall #1 please
  • SnotBubbles
They suck. #8 seed or worse.

    (I voted #2 seed)

depends how they do in the conference tournament.

Well, duh. And it also depends on how the rest of the season fares. This is just a "projection." Some may even dare to call it an opinion.

    #3 at worst

I voted 3. Be one of the best potential 3 seeds in a long while though.

Need to beat Indiana this Sunday at home. I think they will, although I'm sure the Hoosiers will be fired up to try to get a HUGE road win. Figuring a win there, they would be 18-3 hosting Michigan on 1/29. I say that's a W for 19-3. In those final 9 games, 5 are on the road at Wisky, Minnesota, Michigan, Northwestern and Michigan St. They need to go no worse than 3-2 in those 5, and protect home court. A 27-5 record should get them a 2 seed at worst, they'd get a 1 seed if they win the BTT.
As long as OSU can protect home court, they will be fine.

2 or 3, still a long way to go.

Who knows. Long way to go. So many things can and will happen. Other teams will fall, and rise as well. At this point, no worse than a #2 seed though.

    2 seed.

MSU wins the B1G and takes the #1 seed from our conference. I guess if OSU beats MSU in the tourney, the B1G could have two 1 seeds, but I doubt it. Big 12 winner likely takes one (Kansas/Baylor/Mizzou) before any conference gets 2. Cuse will take one. UNC barring a collapse will as well as UK. So that is, imo, 5 teams ahead of them for the 4 spots.

If they do beat out MSU for the title, they will get it. But I love the way Izzo has that squad playing. I dont see them losing the regular season title, even though its so early. I think they go 3 losses in conference.

I said a 2 seed, but I expect they'll be in the discussion for a 1. Syracuse, UK, and UNC will be 1's I think.

Then I'd say the last one will be Baylor, MSU, or OSU.

Most likely a 2. If they continue to struggle on the road a 3. If they turn it back on they can get the 1.
  • Crimson streak
I'll say 2 just bc the big 10 is pretty strong this year so they will lose a couple more

1 or 2 when it's all said and done

Big Ten Regular Season and Tourny Champs - #1
Big Ten Regular Season only - #2 possibly #1
Neither Big Ten or Regular Season title - #3-#5

If they win the reg season title and don't win the tournament, they will be a 3. If they win both, they will be a 1 most likely. If they win the tournament but NOT the regular season, they will be a 2.

NCAA takes the regular season into MUCH more of an account than they do the conference tournament. IF they win the regular season, in what is considered by most to be the TOP conference, they will be NO worse than a #2.

I would honestly say the big 10 is the best conference this year. They have a lot of depth

I picked #2 but they need to play a little harder than they have been, (kind of a lazy team, no sense of urgency) MSU will lose some games, player for player they aren't that talented but are extremely well coached and play well together (definition of team) Bucks must find a shooter or shooters to be a legit contender for a final 4 or even elite 8. I want to see Ross play some with the first unit to see if he shoots as well as advertised. With Buford shooting so poorly (most of the time) Craft, Smith, and Buford is not a good combination to go with Sully and Thomas. You need more guard scoring (and not someone taking 20 shots just to get into double figures.)

With UNC getting rocked today by 33 by an unranked FSU team, that # 1 seed for them went out the window

    Lol no it didn't.

I voted 2 seed. I think OSU will be ranked #5-8 for most of the season and make it to the conference finals.
