because in big moments he chokes and makes bad decisions.hoops23;1032804 wrote:Why did Buford shoot a 3? Terrible decisions plagued this team all game.
This team is not capable of winning a national title. -

You think IU got some home cookin? Or are you sayin OSU just plays that much better at homeMidstate01;1032806 wrote:We will win the game in cbus by 25. Maybe easily. -

They called it just like they call MAC games when they work those (this crew works almost all B1G/MAC, few others), which is foul crazy. Since B1G teams beat the shit out of each other, it gets ugly fast.tyranny;1032807 wrote:How much money did the officials have on IU to cover? Over/Under 10k? -
vball10setThat loss is on Matta--no way Thompson should've been in there at the end...period.

Damn, I hate it when you're right--HUGE choke by a senior!!!wes_mantooth;1032809 wrote:because in big moments he chokes and makes bad decisions. -
KR1245Big games bring out the best in some players, they seem to bring out the worst in Willy
Craft played a bad game, Thomas couldn't get it going. Alot of unforced turnovers, overall a bad game by the Bucks -
Hb31187
The game was called the same way on both ends. Very tightly, it wasnt like IU had no calls against them. It was equally shittytyranny;1032814 wrote:think? LOL -
Skyhook79OSU let the refs get to them, the really good teams can ignore/play thru the refs. 4 straight terrible possessions lost the game for the Bucks not the refs.
Sully didn't touch the ball the last 4 times. -
GoPensI'm not one to bitch about the officiating but there's no way those guys should have a job tomorrow. Horrible calls on both sides.
-
wes_mantoothDef lopsided, but I think that is because OSU is a physical team...and like TS said...these mac officials have a quick trigger

Didn't watch the 1st half?Hb31187;1032818 wrote:The game was called the same way on both ends.
Pretty much this. There's no way SOMETHING wasn't at play here. I think everyone can agree this isn't a crew that deserves to ref at this level.GoPens;1032820 wrote:I'm not one to bitch about the officiating but there's no way those guys should have a job tomorrow. Horrible calls on both sides. -

Better now than later---everyone was outplayed, and Matta was outcoached....on to the next gameKR1245;1032817 wrote:Big games bring out the best in some players, they seem to bring out the worst in Willy

Sully didn't touch the ball the last 4 times.
The fact that Sully never touched the ball, especially when OSU was up 1 on consecutive trips was mind boggling. -
Midstate01Ive never been so mad watching a game. Unreal. Officiating was terrible. Then defense late(because of officiating) was poor. Ah!!!!
-
robj55This team isn't as good as last years, no one can create their own shot consitently and we don't have knock down shooters like last year so our floor spacing sucks. Teams are preventing Sully from getting the ball and they can do that because there is no Diebler on the same side of the floor as him this year. When our offense doesn't go through Sully we are an average team on offense.

yeah, it should pretty much a rule that he should touch the ball on every half court possessionhoops23;1032824 wrote:Agreed 100%

hoops23Hopefully OSU learns from this, because if they want to win the national championship, there will be a moment in the NCAA tourney where they will HAVE to overcome adversity.
They let the refs get in their head and stopped playing defense for a good stretch in the second half. You simply can not do that. IU honestly had no business winning this game, but OSU let them hang around.
Somebody has to develop a killer instinct on this team, though I'm not sure who.
IMO, Matta really needs to try and work LaQuinton Ross in. This team needs more scoring and he's also a good sized player at 6'8''.. -

Hb31187I honestly dont think its that bad of a loss, IU is a solid solid team. But I agree with hoops that they need someone with a killer instinct. Thomas has it...but hes too wildly inconsistent

My complaint isn't necessarily that Thompson was in there, it's more that Smith wasn't. He had 12/6/3 today, his corner 3 ball was there, and he plays very solid D on the wing. Don't really get why he wasn't out there.vball10set;1032813 wrote:That loss is on Matta--no way Thompson should've been in there at the end...period.
Other random thoughts... Thomas is a rhythm player. Not surprised he couldn't get it going with his foul trouble.
I didn't have any trouble with the shot Buford took at the end. IU did a good job of contesting it, but that's a play a lot of teams run in situations like that and Will is very good at the catch and shoot moving to his left.
Would definitely rather see Craft score 6 points and control the offense than score 16 but be out of control half of the time and finish with 6 turnovers.
And finally, the officials were absolutely terrible. The 2nd half was equally bad both ways (I thought Zeller's 5th foul was a pretty terrible call), but the 1st half was OSU just getting bent over. But still had a chance to win it at the end and couldn't close it out.
Don't have to wait too long for a rematch though, Hoosiers come to Columbus on the 15th. -
Skyhook79
Eh IDK you are right about the 3pt shooting. IU is a very, very good team at Home. The Bucks shot 49% for the game, not great but not bad.robj55;1032828 wrote:This team isn't as good as last years, no one can create their own shot consitently and we don't have knock down shooters like last year so our floor spacing sucks. What is bad for this game is when Sully only gets 5 shots, that should NEVER happen. I think Matta out coached himself by sitting Sully,Thomas with 2 fouls in the 1st half for so long. Craft took 10 shots Sully 5, Buford 7 and Thomas 6. Thats on Matta for not correcting that. Your 3 best scorers need more shots than that. -
wes_mantoothI now hate Laley and when logs on next time, he will notice that he is banned.
