Let's talk future BCS stuff

8 team playoff is what it needs to be. Keep the rest of the bowl games so the precious NCAA can still make their money. No first round bye bullshit. Use the BCS to rank 1-8, except get rid of the coaches poll bullshit. 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4,5 and no rebracketing.

    Explain, not understanding.

A lot of times teams will have a certain focus, an "edge", that acts as a propellant towards a certain goal. Once that goal has been achieved, sometime that "edge" is lost, opening the team up for a potential upset.

I did read your post. You said...and I quote:
Like I've said, if you can't win your own conference you don't deserve to play in the NCG.
Oregon did win their conference. Had they beaten USC, they would have finished with a resume that included PAC-12 Champions with wins over #4 Stanford, and #5 (in the AP Poll) USC.

I'm a fan of the +1 system. It's one extra game. Play all the bowls and match up teams that need to be "knocked out" of championship contention. Let LSU play Bama, again, and have that winner play the winner of OK ST Stanford. Problem solved.

Why is the BCS good enough to rank #1-8, but not good enough to rank #1-2?

I said I WOULD BE OKAY WITH A REMATCH IF ALL OTHER OPTIONS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED. Are you dense, stupid, or both?

The BCS is good enough to rank #1 and #2 if the biased coaches poll isnt included.

LOL and Oregon has 2 losses, they shouldn't even be in the discussion.

I know they have 2 losses. That's why I said, IF they had beaten USC (which would give them 1 loss...that came at the hand of LSU).

Then we don't need a playoff. Just get rid of the coaches poll and keep the same set up. No need for a playoff.

Delany remains opposed to a Plus-One because he believes it would lead to an eight- or 16-team playoff that would harm college football’s regular season and bowl system.

“Our view is we’d like to stay where we are,” Delany told the Tribune in a telephone interview. “We do believe in the slippery-slope theory.”

But Delany also said of the BCS: “No system is perfect, and this one is not. It can be improved.”

If Boise would go undefeated and Bama would go undefeated, Bama would get in the NC ahead of them just because they play a tougher schedule. Doesnt prove that Bama is better than Boise. Only way to prove it is on the field. Taking the top 8 gives schools such as Houston or Boise a chance to go undefeated and show how good they are.

This from a guy who heads a conference that came up with "Leaders" and "Legends" as divisional names.

Do you mean like how LSU blew a late 3rd qtr lead of 27-14 over Kentucky in 2007 and lost? Wonder how they got their wish to be in the Championship game even though they allowed that to happen.

You can go back and look at the bad losses that other teams had that season and answer your own question.

If Alabama had lost another game, Oklahoma State would've been fine with blowing that one game. But once they lost, they were at the mercy of other teams. It was no different with LSU, they were at the mercy of other teams after their poor performance, but other teams also underperformed.

1 loss Kansas (only loss was to #3 Missouri) was left out and 2 loss LSU was chosen in 2007. How did Kansas underperform more than LSU?
    Hope this helps.

By beating only 1 team with a winning record and playing an OOC schedule of CMU, SE La, Toledo, and FIU, then being mostly dominated in the game that they could've solidified their spot. People weren't impressed with that when it came down to it. You couldn't figure that out?

In other words hypocrisy in the BCS is ok as long as an SEC team is not affected by it.

didnt nebraska and oklahoma both get a chance to play for the national championship without winning their conference? it seems the big 12 has gotten a break in the past. just face it the sec will win another title no matter how long cry.

That was fraud too. Although arguably worse since we've already seen that LSU is better than Bama.

How about 2008? Florida lost at home to Ole Miss, and they made it over USC, Texas, Penn State, and undefeated Utah, who went on to beat Alabama.
