Couldn't agree more. That has much less to do with any opinion of Hillis and moreso because Richardson has the best skillset of any runner I've seen since Adrian Peterson and has the ability to produce at a top 10 level right away as a rookie if given enough opportunity. That will help out the Browns out more than any position besides an elite defense end and IMO there aren't any this year. Richardson and Blackmon are both elite skill position prospects.

    You da MAN!

    Yes, I am implying that.

With as big of football fans as we have here, to say that you're (collectively, not necessarily you) not watching the TITLE game because of genuine disinterest is laughable. It's mostly people throwing a juvenile bitch fit about the SEC.

Well I do somewhat resemble that generalization, not gonna lie. It isn't just the sec, but the sec, ESPN and the hypocrisy of not doing a rematch of 1 vs 2 earlier combined with general apathy.

    I'll be watching.
I don't see where someone saying "I'm not going to watch" constitutes whining.

Is it just me or are they trying to hype the game more then usual?? Keep saying the place is full, and yet it's clearly not yet. Keep saying its deafening when it's obviously not(though the super dome is loud!!).
Just seems like they are trying to hard... Maybe it's just me though

It was nearly full an hour ago.
  • Pick6
well its not like its the NCG or anything. I'd expect it to be full and loud, cant say that for 95% of the other bowl games, though.

It doesn't. But "I'm not going to watch because we already saw this match up and Alabama didn't even win their conference it's just an ESPN conspiracy to shove the SEC down our throats" does.

    How is that whining? Lol

Its like saying you not watching wvu uconn on espn2 cuz you don't care about either teams is whining...no its not, you just don't wanna watch it its not whining.

There's a difference between a fan of college football saying "I don't want to watch a Big East conference game because I don't care" and "I'm not going to watch the National Championship because I don't care" The first one is because no one watches the Big East, the second one is sour grapes.

No you took that wrong...a college basketball fan doesn't watch wvu uconn because they just don't want to. A college football fan doesnt watch LSU bama cuz they don't care about either team and thinks the game will be boring.

Both of those aren't whining its just someone not watchin the game because of their own personal reasons. Doesn't make either one a bitch lol

If there's any interest at all in this boring fraudulent game, guess what? We'll see two SEC duking it out next year. By allowing this game we are essentially promoting that a 1 loss SEC is better than any other every year. Since the SEC only has two teams that are good in any given year, most likely every year we are going to have at least 2 1 loss or less SEC teams. OK ST is the best team in the country this year, and Stanford is more deserving at this point than Alabama(simply because Alabama already had their shot against the champs).

Watching game bc sleeper says not to

S&L, to bring up the comment you brought before about the BCS title game being the NCAA champion.

The NCAA, years ago, broke into three divisions and further split the Division I football into I-A and I-AA (now FBS and FCS). They did that to cater to the biggest schools. The BCS schools make up 65 of the 120 Division I-A (or FBS) schools. The NCAA can't do something in and of itself. It has to be voted on by the members in the group that are in that classification. The reason the Big East has stayed a BCS league, for instance, was to appease them to stay above the 50% threshold. They then vote to not have the NCAA recognize a champion. Because if they wanted the NCAA to run the championship it would be administered the same as every other NCAA championship. And part of that is the money from it is spread equally. That has nothing to do with the teams participating, etc.

The big schools didn't want that. They wanted control of the money. A playoff may make more money for all involved. But it won't make more money for those who are already making the most off the current system. The BCS has thrown a bone to the smaller schools to try and keep congress off its back (since the NCAA, the member schools, the bowls, etc are all granted tax-exempt status). But, they still hold the leverage. One reason we won't see the AQ removed, despite the posturing, is that the Big East schools may defect from the BCS members and vote with the 55 smaller conference schools and vote that I-A (now labeled FBS) needs a playoff. Which could go one of two ways: We get a playoff or b) we get armageddon. The BCS breaks away from the NCAA and forms their own association for all sports and no longer has to listen to the rules of the NCAA. Congress, governors, etc are the only defense against the 'nuclear' option. Because most of the schools are run, in some way, by the state they're in and congress is what is giving them their tax-free status.

The NCAA has never recognized a champion, though. Because there never was the overwhelming desire to. The smaller schools wanted a playoff because they couldn't be voted high or get selected to a bowl. So, they wanted something of their own to play for and get out from the shadow of the big schools.

Another reason the Big 12 didn't implode last year was what it would do to the BCS. If the Big 12 imploded and Big East savaged by the ACC, there would be several schools looking to the C-USA or MAC. The numbers would've swayed beyond 50% in favor of the non-AQ. Which would trigger them forcing the issue of a playoff. And if forced, the big schools would make the decision: go along and lose more money to the small schools, or go nuclear.

As long as 50% or more schools are members of AQ BCS leagues, we won't have a true, fair playoff. The only thing that might start is the plus-one that might morph into something bigger, later. But, it will be built in such a way to ensure the biggest schools have the most access, and the most profit. Fairness and merit be damned.
