More proof of SEC bias (as if its needed)

I bet we could find other CBs that have similar statistics. Those don't impress me.lhslep134;1000593 wrote:He has 6 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 2 defensive touchdowns, 16 pass breakup/deflections, and leads the team in tackles.
Yup, just a kick returner. Get out of here with your laughable ignorance. -

BigAppleBuckeyeBall is having a GREAT year, and I think he deserves some mention. But in reality, this is the worst B1G conference from top to bottom I have seen in years, and the voters know that.

A quick google. 11 INTs. TM7 isn't even a top 5 corner in college football. And this guy has more tackles.
TM7 is a fraud and a product of the CBS SEC machine that gets stuffed down our throats on a daily basis. -
se-alumOnly 146 CB's in the NCAA had more INT's than TM7. Let's be honest, when it comes to CB's thats the stat that matters, not fumble recoveries...lol. Woodson had 8 the year he won the Heisman.

And a lot more have more tackles. TM7 just blitzes a lot and plays with a line that is one of the best in the SEC against SEC offensive lines. I'll stand by my comment I made months ago that TM7 wouldn't even start in the B1G.se-alum;1000618 wrote:Only 146 CB's in the NCAA had more INT's than TM7. Really? Because Nnamdi Asomugha only has 6 INTs in the past 5 seasons combined.se-alum;1000618 wrote:Let's be honest, when it comes to CB's thats the stat that matters.
Again, more ignorance from you. -

But how many fumble recoveries does he have?? That's the moneymaker right there!!lhslep134;1000650 wrote:Really? Because Nnamdi Asomugha only has 6 INTs in the past 5 seasons combined.

I used fumbles to show he's not just a punt returner.
Honestly, do you watch football? Do you realize there's more to playing the position than just INTs? Because your posts on the matter suggest you don't. -
daveWisconsin might want to play a decent program and/or a road game the first month of the year if they want the country to notice someone on their team.

Right, because this criteria applies every year. Mantee Ball is 10x the RB Richardson is, and is having a season that only Barry Sanders could out do. He deserves the Heisman, and it'll be another fraud if Richardson puts up less impressive stats against similar competition.dave;1000668 wrote:Wisconsin might want to play a decent program and/or a road game the first month of the year if they want the country to notice someone on their team. -

You sure are a testy little fella today. I never realized you were one that couldn't argue a point without resorting to name calling. I would think someone supposedly in law school, could argue a point like an adult.lhslep134;1000667 wrote:I used fumbles to show he's not just a punt returner.

Read the edited post there chief. I didn't realize that someone could be so ignorant about a football position.se-alum;1000709 wrote:You sure are a testy little fella today. OK, so you're saying, if Mathieu had 0 punt returns, he would be in the Heisman conversation?lhslep134;1000758 wrote:Read the edited post there chief. I didn't realize that someone could be so ignorant about a football position. -

What the hell are you talking about? Maybe you should start one of those cool "player A vs player B" threads that ccrunner is so good at. You know, leave out half of the stats. Mathieu might not be the best corner, or the best punt returner, or the best tackler, or the best whatever, but when you add up everything and look at the impact he has had in some pretty big games, he is right in the discussion as one of the best players in the country.se-alum;1000780 wrote:OK, so you're saying, if Mathieu had 0 punt returns, he would be in the Heisman conversation? -

If that's so, explain how Troy Smith won it throwing for 2500 yards and 30 TDs...Skyhook79;1000331 wrote:The Heisman is a individual award not a team award. -

My original argument was, they are not going to give the Heisman to someone who is mostly known as a great return man. There's no doubt Mathieu is a hell of a football player, but he's not going to win the Heisman, and most likely won't get many votes.karen lotz;1000793 wrote:What the hell are you talking about?
