You're right. It's your fault that you are a faux Buckeye and you can go root for Kansas football while you're at it.SportsAndLady;996444 wrote:It's not my fault OSU bball was never on TV when I was a kid and choosing what basketball team I liked...Kansas always was, and I enjoyed watching them...and plus, Kirk Heinrich was the **** -
SportsAndLadyLol I mean I could care less...faux fan is such a gay thing to say
I root for who I root for -
GOONx19Nay for sure.

AutomatikBasically.....if you didn't root for OSU and deal with the pains of having Brandon Fuss-Cheatham, then you're not allowed to enjoy the success that is about to come on the football field.

It doesn't embarrass you say "Oh I'm a huge Buckeye fan" and then people are like "Ah, tough loss in basketball the other night against the Cleveland Cavaliers" and then you say "Well I'm a Kansas fan for basketball only".SportsAndLady;996488 wrote:Lol I mean I could care less...faux fan is such a gay thing to say

sleeperI mean for me, in a business setting, if someone can't keep their teams straight, how can I trust they'll be loyal to me if something better comes around? I don't hire people who root for OSU football and then Kansas basketball, and I bet a lot of people feel the same way.

vball10setlol-what do the Cleveland Cavaliers have to do with this?

Pick6OSU football fan and basketball fan here. But I grew up in the Pittsburgh/WVU TV market and only had locals. I remember mostly seeing Pitt, WVU, Duke, Kentucky, NC, and Kansas while growing up more than OSU.
But hey, at least we dont have any OSU football fans and Michigan basketball fans or the other way around (that I know of). See (CatsGoneWild with Kentucky and LSU) -

Fly4FunOne of the few times I agree with Sleeper.
I detest people who are fans of different schools for different sports... unless you attended those different schools. -
SportsAndLadyWelp F4Fail agrees with my opposing side..I win!

By similar act, you mean using logic and reason to get your point across? I'll take that as an honor.karen lotz;996682 wrote:ah, didn't know that. I remember bbmind and he had a similar act to sleeper. -

I think bbmind also got worked up about what teams people were allowed to root for.karen lotz;996682 wrote:I remember bbmind and he had a similar act to sleeper. -

I don't have a problem with people rooting for the Steelers in football, the Lakers in basketball, etc.FatHobbit;996723 wrote:I think bbmind also got worked up about what teams people were allowed to root for.
But in college, people that root for one schools football program and another schools basketball program(and they are both successful in different sports); its a freaking joke and those people need to be called out. There needs to be a heavy stigma generated so these people get less jobs, and raise kids that don't get jobs, and then they slowly will eliminate themselves one by one. -

If a person has no affiliation with the schools why would it matter. A younger person will enjoy watching a good team or good players play so will follow these teams. Why would someone want to watch a team that sucks get crushed all the time? Yes call these people out over the internet, that will learn them. Also lol at trying to tie jobs in with who someone roots for implying it has any actual importance in the world. Perhaps the real stigma should be placed on those that has time to post thousands of times and obviously has nothing better to do than think of the dumbest threads they can come up with. You are disgracing your "degree" from OSU by not being productive in any way.sleeper;996730 wrote:I don't have a problem with people rooting for the Steelers in football, the Lakers in basketball, etc.

Dumb shit aside, where did you grow up in respect to OSU, for example, is it right down the street from you...on the other side of the state? Or did you go to a lot of OSU sporting events as a kid (parents OSU fans, too?)?sleeper;996730 wrote:But in college, people that root for one schools football program and another schools basketball program(and they are both successful in different sports); its a freaking joke and those people need to be called out. Anyway, sports are entertainment and should be treated with a consumer perspective. Unless a person has a direct influence/affiliation (having the QB bang your girlfriend doesn't really count) with the athletic teams at a school, why on earth would they not choose something that appeals to them over adopting some sense of meaningless loyalty? I mean, what's the benefit of that other than being a message board bad ass?
