How long will it take for Ohio State players to be arrested?

I'm not disagreeing, but using two examples of coaches who got fired isn't the best idea.Writerbuckeye;995460 wrote:I say you and others who think like you are full of crap. Just about every program goes through arrests on one level or another. Even JT had more than 20 arrests over about a two year period or so at one point. So did PSU under Paterno. -
Fly4FunMOST OSU fans that I have talked to are excited for the Urban Meyer hiring but are skeptical because of his players' arrests and the whole retiring episode.
I don't think many if any OSU fans are pretending like the arrests didn't happen. Some might not know about it, but the ones who do are skeptical. -
SpeedofsandCbus is a much bigger city than Gainesville. I doubt the cops up there arrest players for throwing paper cups or because a psycho ex girlfriend is lying.

Please let me know what for and when he was arrested when he was a player at Ohio State. Because that's what we are talking about here, players getting arrested. Not former dropouts. I'll be waiting.......KnightRyder;995972 wrote:like Mo C
Right, it's everyone else but the players faults.Speedofsand;996916 wrote:Cbus is a much bigger city than Gainesville. I doubt the cops up there arrest players for throwing paper cups or because a psycho ex girlfriend is lying.
At least OSU fans don't make excuses for their players when they get ARRESTED. -
karen lotzDidn't Urban make some comment during his presser that would back up what SOS said?

Probably, but of course he is going to try and sugarcoat for his former players. I'd expect that out of a coach so he can show his current/future players he is a "players coach".karen lotz;997012 wrote:Didn't Urban make some comment during his presser that would back up what SOS said? -

Midstate01Kinda funny that the arrests at Florida were never a big deal.. Now that Meyer coaches osu, it's a big deal. Lol

The following summer, Clarett reported that a used car he had borrowed from a local dealer was broken into and that he had been hit by thousands of dollars in losses. Clarett's call to police came from Tressel's office. Clarett admitted he had made up the break-in call and later took a plea deal. But the NCAA began looking into Clarett and the team. Soon after, he was declared ineligible. He would never play another college game.

If osu players get arrested. I'm pissed. Berry, can be gone for all I care. These kids have everything handed to them, if they are dumb enough to fuck that up. Then see ya. I'm not sticking up for them. -

Pwned? LMAO.....Clarett was charged, never arrested. And then Ohio State did the honorable thing and declared him ineligible. At Florida, or any SEC school for that matter, he would have been given a duffel bag of money and named team captain.Speedofsand;998370 wrote:The following summer, Clarett reported that a used car he had borrowed from a local dealer was broken into and that he had been hit by thousands of dollars in losses. He was still a player at the time. He took a plea deal. It was OSU, a Big 10 school. Speaking of team captains with a bag of money, this is the next paragraph in the same link....
The Buckeyes went 11-2 in 2003 and followed that with an 8-4 mark in Tressel's fourth season. There had been a stream of players getting in trouble, but in December 2004 backup quarterback Troy Smith was suspended for the bowl game and the 2005 regular-season opener for accepting $500 from a booster.
Show me a link where a Florida player got arrested and was given a bag of money and named team captain. I'll be waiting... You can use my other link listing all of Florida's arrests under Meyer.
Clarett's time at Ohio State University was marked by several troubling incidents. He was seen yelling at his position coach during the Northwestern - Ohio State game in the 2002 season. In December 2002, he publicly maligned OSU officials for not paying for him to fly home for the funeral of a friend and accused administrators of lying when they said he had not filed the necessary paperwork. In July 2003, Clarett became the center of an academic scandal when a teaching assistant told the New York Times that Clarett had received preferential treatment from a professor; the investigation did not find sufficient evidence of academic misconduct.
Ohio State later suspended Clarett for the 2003 athletic year after he was charged with filing a false police report. Clarett had filed a false claim that more than $10,000 in clothing, CDs, cash and stereo equipment were stolen from a car he borrowed from a local dealership in September 2003. Athletic Director Andy Geiger stated that Clarett also took thousands of dollars in special benefits and repeatedly misled investigators. Clarett later pleaded guilty to a lesser criminal charge (failure to aid a law enforcement official) in that incident.
OSU did the honorable thing, lol. As if Mo left them any choice. Even back then all your jocks were getting free cars, just like the SI.com story said. OSU fans have no room to talk when it comes to NCAA violations, arrests, cheating, lying coaches, etc. since 2002.

Midstate01500 is a bag of money?? Was it in 1's?
-
Midstate01Oh and that si article about the cars got destroyed... si looked really stupid after that piece.
-
Speedofsandmidstate, you're trying too hard
-
Midstate01Nah, that was pretty easy. Youre the one digging for anything. Aren't u a uf fan?? If so, why are you arguing arrests anyway?
-
SpeedofsandWhy is dwccrew arguing about Clarett? He is dead wrong and then took a stupid shot at Florida. As if a Buckeye fan has room to talk. I'm not arguing for or against. I'm a fan of both schools and Meyer. Just pointing out a dumbass when I see one. I gave info with all the arrests without opinion. You can click the link and see how many driving on susp lic. and under age drinking there were. Everything Meyer did as discipline is there to see. I think it will make some Buckeyes think he wasn't as bad as they said.
-
RotinajGetting arrested is for poor people, and you can be damn sure that their isnt a single poor person that goes to OSU. 0 arrests, BOOK IT!!
-
se-alumSpeed, you have to admit, there were alot of serious charges against Florida players during Meyer's time. I can't remember any OSU felonies in any recent years, though it's possible there could've been some. Let's not use the, "but the charges were dropped/reduced" argument, cause we all know what that means.
I do definitely worry about this with Meyer, especially with all the NCAA stuff that has gone on.
